NBA Fast Break Run 6 | Day 4

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 40 Points in the Paint and 45 Field Goal Attempts to earn your win.

Overview:

Fast Break Day 3 had the majority back on track as 88% of participants walked away with a win. SGA earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day Award as he contributed 15 field goals made for the 72% of participants who used him. As all five of the top utilized players exceeded their minimum threshold, there are no Duds today. With notable injuries popping up everywhere, be sure to adjust your lineups accordingly. Anthony Davis avoided a major injury and could be available for the remainder of the run whereas Luka appears to be sidelined until late January.

Also note that today is the final day of Holiday of Hoops, which requires three (3) players who will combine for 5 three pointers made & 10 rebounds. Whether you’re winning in Run 6 and/or Holiday of Hoops, take that momentum into the remainder of Run 6. With that said, let’s dive into today’s objectives.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 3 requires five (5) players who will make 40.0 or more points in the paint and 45.0 field goal attempts, which means your lineup will need to average 8.0 PIP & 9.0 FGA per player. Frankly, FGA is a gimme objective, so focus your attention on points in the paint. FGA will, however, be worth tracking to place in the daily prizing and tie-breaker for those who are pursuing the full series rewards.

  • Inside Scorers: Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, Ivica Zubac, Jaylen Brown, Alperen Sengun, Jayson Tatum

  • Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: N. Jokic (66%), J. Brown (62%), J. Tatum (43%), A. Sengun (38%), K. Durant (30%)

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow, 25 free throws made is needed and there are 18 teams in action

  • Objectives (after today):

    • 2x: STL

    • 1x: AST, 3PA, +/-, OREB, AST-TO, 3PM, PTS, REB, BLK, FGM, PIP

Considerations:

  • Five teams have the least number of games remaining (4)

  • Eight teams have the most games remaining (6)

  • Brooklyn, Houston, Indiana, Memphis, New Orleans, and Orlando are playing the tail end of a back-to-back

  • Each day, there are at least 10 teams in action

  • Both +/- and AST-TO make an appearance in Run 6 (Day 10 & 13)

  • Day 10 & Day 13 are looking to be the most challenging of this run

  • 8 of 13 days have two objectives; 5 have a single objective

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected points in the paint & field goal attempts according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 6 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

We earned our first win of this series and placed 57th on Day 3! We noticed some double uses of some players, so we adjusted accordingly as we should only use a player once. Crisis averted. Oh, and let’s get win #2 today.
