NBA Fast Break Run 6 | Day 3

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 40 Field Goals Made to earn your win.

Overview:

Another tough day in Fast Break Run 6 where only 21% of the 6,700+ participants earned a win. We are already down to 29 perfect records with 11 more days to go (including today). If you played Anthony Davis (66% of lineups) or Kristaps Porzingis (57% of lineups), you likely took a double-take at their results - two rebounds apiece with no blocks. Anthony Davis left the game after rolling his ankle & Porzingis left his game early due to ankle pain. On a day where you needed at least 8 rebounds per player, having one or both likely caused your downfall on Day 2. For this reason, these two are Fast Break co-Duds of the Day. On the other hand, Gobert handled his business and provided 10 rebounds and 2 blocks (80% of lineups) and is yesterday’s Fast Break Stud of the Day. Honorable mention goes to Wemby who had 18 rebounds and 4 blocks.

There’s only one objective today, so anyone who is winless can hopefully break the losing streak. Giannis is probable and could be the difference between winning and losing - especially if you’re forced to find an alternative option. The Milwaukee Bucks host the Brooklyn Nets at 8:00pm ET | 12:00am UTC and there are two games after, so I would keep an extra eye on his status and be prepared to sub him out if he sits another game. Speaking of notable injuries, it appears Luka may be out for an extended amount of time as he left yesterday’s game with a calf strain injury.

Don’t forget - Holiday of Hoops Day 2 takes place today also, which requires three (3) players who will accumulate 15 assists. If you are a tome+ subscriber, be sure the check the exclusive special article that covers the three (3) days.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 3 requires five (5) players who will make 40.0 or more field goals, which means your lineup will need to average 8.0 FGM per player. This is one of those days where a player or two could sink your day, similar to what happened on Day 2.

  • Shot Makers: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

  • Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: D. Fox (79%), SGA (71%), C. Cunningham (58%), R. Barrett (58%), G. Antetokounmpo (38%)

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow, 40 points in the paint & 45 field goal attempts are needed and there are 16 teams in action

  • Objectives (after today):

    • 2x: STL, PIP

    • 1x: FGA, AST, 3PA, +/-, OREB, AST-TO, 3PM, PTS, REB, BLK, FGM

Considerations:

  • Phoenix has the least number of games remaining (4)

  • Brooklyn & Oklahoma City have the most games remaining (7)

  • Each day, there are at least 10 teams in action

  • No team is playing the tail end of a back-to-back

  • Both +/- and AST-TO make an appearance in Run 6 (Day 10 & 13)

  • Day 10 & Day 13 are looking to be the most challenging of this run

  • 8 of 13 days have two objectives; 5 have a single objective

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected field goals made according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 6 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Having both Porzingis and Gafford sealed the loss for us today. Hopefully we turn it around today and earn our first win of this run.
