NBA Fast Break Run 4 | Day 9
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 125 Points Scored to earn your win.
Overview:
Fast Break Day 8 was viewed by many as the most difficult day of this run (and one of the most in recent memory) and it lived up to the expectations as there were only two winners yesterday. There were a few players who exceled like Walker Kessler’s 6 offensive rebounds and Ice Trae’s 5 three pointers, so they would’ve helped many lineups get closer to the goal. Of the top 5 players who were utilized, the Fast Break Stud of the Day goes to Nikola Vucevic as he delivered the most balanced output since he contributed 3 offensive rebounds and 3 three pointers in the Bulls loss to the Pacers. Lauri Markkanen was utilized in 40% of lineups and was slated to play in the nightcap on the day…but he was ruled out due to back injury after the early games had already begun. That left many with few (if any) options remaining. Considering how things were progressing in the early games, many likely decided to throw in the towel and chose not to adjust their lineups or they were unable to make the edit considering the timing of the news. It wouldn’t be fair to bestow the Fast Break Dud of the Day on Lauri or any players today, but the highest usage with the lowest possible output warrants the award (maybe?).
With three days remaining and considering the virtually automatic loss yesterday, your wiggle room to earn the 9-win reward is one loss. Most have already accumulated at least two, so there will be a low threshold of winners in the highest tier and will also mean there will not be a perfect record that earns the trip to Paris. There is no clear frontrunner for the top reward, but there are 35 collectors who are tied with the most wins (tiebreaker is average position throughout the run). For the remaining 99% of Fast Breakers who did not earn a win yesterday, let’s collectively get back on track with a green notification today.
Be mindful the early game tips off at 1:00PM ET | 5:00PM UTC and the latest game tips off at 8:00PM ET | 12:00PM UTC. There are no late West Coast games today.

Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 9 requires five (5) players who will score 125 or more points, which means your lineup will need to average 25 PTS per player. We are back to a single objective, but there will be two objectives on the final two days this run. Your lineup options will depend on whom you have left and who you have planned for the next two days. Of the next three days, today appears to be the easiest, so put your best (available) foot forward but prioritize Day 10 and 11 if you have a chance at the next tier reward.
Scorers: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic
Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: D. Booker (68%), SGA (44%), L. Doncic (43%), D. Mitchell (41%), KAT (41%)
Upcoming Objective(s):
Tomorrow, 5 blocks & 40 field goals made will be the two objectives and there are 24 teams in action
Remaining objectives after today: FGM, BLK, REB, AST
Considerations:
Boston is the only team playing the tail end of a back-to-back today
Day 11 has only two (2) teams in action
Ten (10) teams have two (2) games remaining (refer to the Fast Break Grid)
Every other team has one (1) game remaining
Boston, Dallas, Detroit, & Oklahoma City’s last game is today
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected points scored made according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.
Rewards:
Daily Reward: Top 100 each day will receive a Fast Break Rookie Debut pack

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Epic failure (but not as bad as our Day 6). Came up short in both categories and wasn’t even close on the offensive rebounds. Took some chances on Sochan and Yabusele which did not pan out. That means we’ll need to win two out of three days to secure the mid-tier rewards.
