NBA Fast Break Run 4 | Day 7
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 35 Assists and 40 Rebounds to earn your win.
Overview:
We’re past the midway point of Fast Break Run 4 and Day 6 lived up to the volatile expectations. If you played predominantly Heat or Timberwolves starters plus Jaylen Brown (co-Fast Break Studs of the Day), you likely fared well. If you played Wendell Carter, who was projected with a +10 but ended at -7 (our Fast Break Dud of the Day), or any Clippers or Lakers players, you likely did not fare as well. Boston was without Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, but they came out of the gates hot. But the second half was a different story and Detroit stormed back to make it a close game, which detrimentally affected many Boston players (except for Jaylen). Although Philly were short-handed, they gave Orlando fits. The #1 defensive team did not look like it today, which was poor timing for those who played mostly Boston/Orlando players.
Of the 7,700 participants this run, we are down to 42 perfect records (down from 210 yesterday) and narrows the field significantly as we step into the second half of Run 4. With five (5) days remaining in this run, you need at least four (4) wins under your belt to still have a shot at the 9-win pack. Otherwise, your best outcome is the 6-win pack which is feasible for most collections. If you were one of the 16% who won on Day 6, congratulations - keep the momentum going. If you were on the other side, let’s get back on the winning track today.

Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 7 requires five (5) players who will distribute 35 assists and gather 40 rebounds, which means your lineup will need to average 7.0 assists & 8.0 rebounds per player. Both are high thresholds and few are proficient in both categories, which means you’ll likely need to moneyball some of your lineup to gather buffer room in either category. Based on how the projections are looking, this one will be a challenging day for many participants, but it is achievable with the right mix of players. No pressure.
Little of Both: Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic
Sharing is Caring: Chris Paul, Nikola Jokic
Doesn’t Share Rebounds: Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Jokic, Domantas Sabonis, Jakob Poeltl, Alperen Sengun, Isaiah Hartenstein, Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, Nikola Vucevic, Nick Richards, Yves Missi
Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: N. Jokic (74%), D. Sabonis (72%), L. Doncic (52%), S. Barnes (42%), J. Morant (40%)
Upcoming Objective(s):
Tomorrow, 12 offensive rebounds & 12 three pointers made will be the two (2) objectives and there are 14 teams in action
Remaining objectives after today: OREB, PTS, 3PM, FGM, BLK, REB, AST
Considerations:
No teams are playing the tail end of a back-to-back today
Day 8 will be one of the most challenging days this run as it requires OREB & 3PM
Day 11 has only two (2) teams in action
Brooklyn, Detroit, & LA Clippers are the (3) teams that have one (1) game remaining for the remainder of this run
Thirteen (13) teams have three (3) games remaining (refer to the Fast Break Grid)
Boston, Dallas, Detroit, & Oklahoma City’s last game is on Day 9
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected Assists & Rebounds according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
The 9-win objective is no longer feasible after an abysmal day from Orlando & Boston who underperformed against Philadelphia & Detroit respectively. Then the Clippers decided today was a good day to get throttled by Minnesota. No, you’re not seeing things - that’s a negative 63 on Day 6 and ranked 5,876th out of 5,924. That’s 24 spots from dead last. Brutal. Shake it off and back at it tomorrow.
