NBA Fast Break Run 3 | Day 10
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 5 Steals and 5 Blocks to earn your win.
Overview:
Like yesterday, there were no clear Fast Break Duds of the top players utilized. The closest was Sabonis contributed 7 assists & no free throws, but he still chipped in on the more difficult of the two objectives. On the other end of the spectrum, the Fast Break Stud of the Day award goes to James Harden who was included in 75% of lineups and delivered 8 assists (32% of the objective) and 12 free throws made (80% of the objective). Based on this success, it should come as no surprise 73% of participants earned a win going into the final stretch of this run.
Yesterday, we mentioned Brandon Miller’s continued ascent into Fast Break regularity (13th overall option today) and the value his $17 rare presented. Well, it appears others felt the same way and his low ask has risen to $20 as of today. If you don’t have one yet, keep an eye on it should the price bounce downward again. For Fast Break steal days, the rising premier thief is Dyson Daniels who is averaging 3.3 steals over his last 10 games. It’s worth mentioning he did not have a rare moment before this season and now has two (2)…one of which has a (current) low ask of $13.
There are over 8,000 participants this run and there are 96 perfect records, which I anticipate will drop precipitously over the next two days. In order to have a chance at the 9-win pack, you’ll need at least six (6) wins so far. The final three days are no walk in the park though, so hopefully you planned ahead. Let’s dive into today’s objectives.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 10 requires five (5) players who will accumulate 5 or more steals and 5 or more blocks, which means your lineup will need an average of 1.0 STL and 1.0 BLK per player. On any given night, a player can light up the stat sheet and walk away with multiple steals and/or blocks and then give you zeros the next game. Case in point, Isaiah Hartenstein has played one game this season and racked up 4.0 blocks. Is it possible he does it again? Yes. Is it likely? No, but he may be good for at least one (1) block. As such, you’ll notice players who are averaging 1.0+ in both categories and others who excel in one category or the other. In Fast Break Run 2, Jaren Jackson delivered 3 steals and no blocks, yet he would be someone you would include in your lineup for blocks. You want to have a balanced lineup who are capable of getting you more than one of at least one category as you’ll inevitably need to make up the difference for someone in your lineup.
Little of Both: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jaren Jackson
Thieves: De'Aaron Fox, Dyson Daniels, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OG Anunoby, Robert Williams, Scottie Barnes, LaMelo Ball, Scotty Pippen, Nikola Jokic, Kris Dunn
Rejectors: Myles Turner, Robert Williams, Jakob Poeltl, Jaren Jackson, Isaiah Hartenstein, Daniel Gafford
Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: M. Turner (65%), J. Jackson (53%), R. Williams (39%), I. Hartenstein (35%), D. Daniels (35%)
Upcoming Objective(s):
Tomorrow, 20 assists minus turnovers will be the objective and only 10 teams are in action
Objectives after Today: AST-TO, PTS, 3PM
Considerations:
Cleveland & Philadelphia’s final game of this run takes place on Day 12
Every other team plays on Day 10 or Day 11
Boston & Milwaukee are the only two teams not playing on final day
Today is Boston’s last game of this run
Boston, Brooklyn, Dallas, Indiana, LA Clippers, Sacramento, & Toronto are playing the tail end of a back-to-back
Day 12 has 28 teams in action
Day 11 (tomorrow) is the always volatile and difficult to predict Assists minus Turnovers objective
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected Steals & Blocks according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
With Harden in the lineup, we earned win #7 rather easily and early. Two wins in three days will be challenging yet doable, but winning today or tomorrow will be the likely make or break factor considering the objectives. Going for win #8!
