NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 2 | Day 8

Durant’s Late Burst, Detroit’s Rally, Minnesota’s Firepower Define the Night

NBA Recap: November 9, 2025

Of the seven games scheduled yesterday, three resulted in 20+ point blowouts and only three where the margin of victory was less than ten points.

Kevin Durant turned back the clock with a masterclass in Milwaukee, scoring 31 points on 11-of-15 shooting and dishing a season-high 7 assists to lead Houston past the Bucks 122–115. The Rockets erased a 14-point deficit and closed on a 22–7 run, with Alperen Sengun adding 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. Giannis Antetokounmpo countered with 37 points but missed key free throws late as Houston stole the road win with poise and precision.

Detroit continued its early-season surge, rallying from a 13-point third-quarter hole to edge Philadelphia 111–108 and improve to 8–2. Boston held off Orlando 111–107 in a tightly contested matchup, while Minnesota exploded for 144 points against Sacramento, riding a 40-point third quarter and a +32 peak margin. Golden State crushed Indiana 114–83, closing with a 39-point fourth quarter that buried the Pacers.

New York dismantled Brooklyn 134–98 behind a 40-point opening frame and a +39 lead at their peak. Oklahoma City outlasted Memphis 114–100, and home teams struggled overall, finishing just 2–5.

NBA Fast Break Results: Day 7

We are back on track as yesterday was the fifth of seven days where more than 70% of Fast Break participants earned the win. Anthony Edwards was the second most utilized player (65%) and although he didn’t have the most attempts, he had the most makes, which gave him the edge for Fast Break Stud of the Day.

On the other hand, Isaiah Joe was the most utilized player (66%), but came off the bench and shot 2 of 7 from outside. With his less than stellar performance (especially if he was your captain), he earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day award.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 8 of 14

Objective(s): 50 Points in the Paint & 12 Offensive Rebounds (10.0 PITP & 2.4 OREB)

You’ll need five (5) players who will score 50 or more points in the paint and gather 12 or more offensive rebounds, which means each player will need to average 10.0 PITP & 2.4 OREB. These two objectives can only be accomplished on one end of the floor, but both could be achieved. End of the day, your designated captain could make or break your win probability today.

Top Player Options:

  • Little of Both: Deandre Ayton, Ivica Zubac, Jarrett Allen

  • Inside Scorers: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cade Cunningham, Victor Wembanyama, Devin Booker

  • (Offensive) Glass Crashers: Ivica Zubac, Jalen Duren, Mark Williams, Rudy Gobert

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: G. Antetokounmpo (60%) | F. Wagner (42%) | J. Duren (41%) | D. Ayton (37%) | R. Gobert (31%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Objectives remaining (after today): AST-TO, AST, STL, FGM, FGA, PTS, REB, BLK

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 40 Assists (8.0 AST)

Considerations:

  • Fifteen (15) teams have the most remaining games (4)

  • Fifteen (15) teams have the fewest remaining games (3)

  • Day 11 & 13 has 10 or less teams in action, so lineup options are more limited

  • Day 10 has 20 or more teams in action, so there is more flexibility with your lineup options

  • The always volatile & challenging AST-TO takes place on Day 13

Statistical Approach:

Top players in points in the paint & offensive rebounds according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 (when available), and season averages, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Witty’s Fast Break Challenge:

In NBA Fast Break, how often you can use a player depends on the value of their moments—measured by average sale price. That system can put newer and/or smaller collectors at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to compete. This segment is designed to level the playing field, giving resourceful collectors a shot at rewards and proving that smart strategy can still win, even without a stacked collection.
