WNBA Fast Break Classic |2025 Playoffs | Day 6

Today’s Objective(s): 70 Points Scored

Overview:

We’ve made it to the semifinals of the WNBA Playoffs and it has been confirmed that there will not be a back-to-back championship as New York was eliminated by Phoenix in the first round. Of the four teams remaining, Minnesota and Las Vegas are favored to reach the finals, but I wouldn’t count out either Indiana or Phoenix based on their performance last round.

As a reminder, the semifinals are a best of five series, so there will be at least three (3) days of games for each team who gets out of the first round.

WNBA Recap: September 19th

Mercury Rise: Sabally Sparks Phoenix Past Liberty in Gritty Game 3 Clincher (PHX 79, NYL 73)

The Phoenix Mercury defeated the New York Liberty 79–73 in Game 3 of the first-round playoff series, punching their ticket to the semifinals. It was a defensive slugfest with Phoenix edging out New York thanks to late-game execution and balanced scoring. Kahleah Copper and Alyssa Thomas were instrumental down the stretch, with Copper’s driving layup and Thomas’s clutch assists fueling the Mercury’s fourth-quarter push. Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with a flurry of buckets in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Phoenix’s composure.

Fast Break Results: Day 5

77% of Fast Break participants earned a win, which is the fifth day in a row where more than 60% of collectors walked away with a win. This trend, though, will not continue as lineups start to move further down the list. In the elimination game, Sabrina Ionescu was leaned upon by 66% of collectors and she delivered as she went 3 for 12 from outside. The makes were sufficient but the attempts helped collectors rise the ranks. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day award.

Marine Johannes was the fifth most utilized player and did not play a single minute. By default, she was your Fast Break Dud of the Day.

WNBA Playoff Semifinals: Best of Five Series

Indiana Fever @ Las Vegas Aces | 3:00PM ET | 7:00PM UTC (Series Tied 0-0)

The Las Vegas Aces host the Indiana Fever in Game 1 of the semifinals, and it’s a collision of interior dominance. A’ja Wilson leads a Vegas squad that’s peaking at the right time. She’s flanked by Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, and Jewell Loyd, giving the Aces unmatched playoff experience and perimeter firepower. But Indiana’s no longer just a feel-good story—Aliyah Boston has emerged as a true franchise centerpiece, and Kelsey Mitchell is coming off a 27-point performance that sealed their first playoff series win since 2015. The Fever are young, hungry, and resilient, but Vegas has the depth and championship pedigree to control the pace and punish mistakes.

Phoenix Mercury @ Minnesota Lynx | 5:00PM ET | 9:00PM UTC (Series Tied 0-0)

In Minneapolis, the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx open their semifinal series against the Phoenix Mercury, who’ve clawed their way into the final four behind Kahleah Copper’s relentless scoring and Alyssa Thomas’s versatility. Minnesota enters with the league’s best record and a rested roster led by Napheesa Collier, who’s been dominant on both ends and is a clear MVP frontrunner. The Lynx swept Phoenix in the regular season and boast elite spacing, ball movement, and defensive efficiency. Phoenix will need a near-flawless outing to steal Game 1, especially with Minnesota’s home crowd and playoff-tested rotation ready to pounce.

Today’s Objective(s): Day 6 of 17

You’ll need five (5) players who will score 70.0 or more points, which means each player will need to average 14.0 PTS. This is as straightforward as it gets and all four teams are in action today. The challenge, though, is determining whether you want to use your stars or save them for another day. At minimum, a team who reaches the WNBA Finals will have seven games remaining, but it could reach five before the Finals begin. Legendaries will have even more value from here on out as they have unlimited usage, but more so for teams who win their respective series. Inevitably, most collectors’ lineups will begin drying up very soon.
