WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 10 | Day 6

Today’s Objective(s): 60 Points Scored

Overview:

Day 5 was another day where over 60% of participants earned a win, but it was also the fifth day where no more than 69% earned a win. As such, there has been a slow degradation of perfection as we are down to 57 individuals who have thrived this run. If you’ve had the misfortune of earning at least one loss so far, that means your highest win-based reward is the mid-tier. So long as you have at least three wins to date, you still have an opportunity to earn that reward.

Now, with four days remaining in the 2025 WNBA Season, every game has an impact on the playoffs, playoff seeding, and/or overall standing. Indiana blew out Washington to secure their spot in the postseason, which leaves us with two teams fighting for a single spot. As Los Angeles won their matchup, they still cling onto very slim hopes to securing that final postseason berth. Las Vegas handily beating the Sky also means they maintain pace for the 2nd overall seed, tied with Atlanta.

WNBA Score(s): September 7th

Fever Flatten Mystics with Balanced Attack (Indiana 94, Washington 65)

Indiana rolled past Washington by a significant margin at CFG Bank Arena, dominating from the jump and never trailing. The Fever’s defense held the Mystics to 43.9% shooting while forcing 21 turnovers. Indiana’s offense was equally sharp, shooting 51.4% from the field and 47.4% from deep. Aliyah Boston anchored the paint, while Kelsey Mitchell and Aerial Powers provided perimeter punch. The Fever outscored Washington 32–18 in the fourth quarter to put a bow the game, and their bench contributed 42 points in a complete team effort. With the win, Indiana improves to 23–20 and officially secured their postseason berth. Although they’ll be without Caitlin Clark, the Fever look to make some noise against higher seeds.

Sparks Ignite Fourth-Quarter Run to Stay Alive (Los Angeles 91, Dallas 77)

Los Angeles kept its playoff hopes flickering with a win over Dallas at Crypto.com Arena, fueled by Julie Allemand’s career-high 21 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting night. Rae Burrell sparked a decisive 16–0 run to open the fourth quarter, scoring 11 of her 13 points during that stretch. Dearica Hamby added 15 points, while Azurá Stevens posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. The Sparks hit 10 threes and racked up 12 steals, showcasing urgency on both ends. Dallas, led by Paige Bueckers’ 18 points and Myisha Hines-Allen’s 15-point, 13-rebound, 7-assist stat line, briefly took the lead late in the third before Allemand’s buzzer-beating three flipped momentum. With the win, LA (20–22) must win out and hope Seattle stumbles to clinch a postseason berth.

Aces Cruise Past Sky for 13th Straight Win (Las Vegas 80, Chicago 66)

Las Vegas extended its win streak to 13 with a double digit victory over Chicago at T-Mobile Arena, riding a dominant third quarter and a balanced scoring effort. A’ja Wilson led the way with clutch buckets throughout the game as she led all scorers with 31, while Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray also contributed double figures to keep the Sky at bay. The Aces shot 45.7% from the field and held Chicago to 40.3% including 30.0% from outside, while capitalizing on 17 Sky turnovers. Despite five players in double figures including Banham, Onyenwere, Williams, Cardoso, & Uzun, Chicago couldn’t close the gap. Las Vegas (28–14) remains locked into the No. 2 seed, while Chicago (10–32) is second worst in the league.

Recap: Day 5

It’s not a matter of if you’ll use A’ja Wilson in your lineup — it’s a matter of when best to use her. A’ja had another stellar night as she collected 11 rebounds and sank 5 free throws to lead the way for 50% of collectors who had her in their lineup. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day.

Dearica Hamby was the lowest contributor with 8 rebounds and 2 free throws, but that was still a positive contribution for yesterday’s objectives. With that said, there were no Duds on the day.

Today’s Matchups:

Connecticut Sun (11-31) @ Atlanta Dream (28-14) | 7:30PM ET | 11:30PM UTC

Tonight at Gateway Center Arena, the Atlanta Dream host the Connecticut Sun in their last regular-season home game, entering with an 83.4% win probability. Atlanta is riding a four-game win streak and continues to surge behind Rhyne Howard, who just dropped a career-high-tying 37 points and set a franchise record with nine made threes. Brionna Jones adds interior balance, helping the Dream maintain one of the league’s stingiest defenses.

Connecticut, fresh off a narrow win over Phoenix, will lean on Tina Charles—just 18 points shy of tying the franchise single-season scoring record—and Marina Mabrey, who’s posted eight 20+ point games this year. But with Atlanta’s perimeter shooting peaking and the Sun wrapping up a tough road slate, the Dream are projected to control tempo and close out their home schedule with a decisive win.
