WNBA Score(s):
Golden State’s Playoff Push Gains Steam against Connecticut (GSV 74, CON 57)
The Golden State Valkyries tightened their grip on a playoff spot with a decisive win over the Connecticut Sun, improving to 16–15 on the season. Tiffany Hayes and Cecilia Zandalasini led the charge with 17 points apiece, while Janelle Salaun chipped in 16. Golden State’s perimeter shooting proved pivotal, draining 13 threes to Connecticut’s five, and a 14–2 fourth-quarter run—capped by a Kate Martin corner triple—sealed the deal.
Connecticut struggled to find offensive rhythm without Tina Charles (rest), despite Aneesah Morrow’s double-double (13 points, 14 rebounds) and Olivia Nelson-Ododa’s 12-point effort. Rookie Aaliyah Edwards added eight in her second game with the Sun, but the team’s 1–15 road record loomed large. Veronica Burton’s 10 assists and Iliana Rupert’s 10 points rounded out a balanced Valkyries effort, as they moved into seventh place in the standings with 13 games remaining.
Recap: Day 10:
Day 10 was brutal for many as only 11% of Fast Breakers earned a win yesterday. Of the top five most utilized, Veronica Burton was called upon by 33% of collectors and she delivered by contributing 10 Assists (but no steals). As she single-handedly covered the assists objective, she is your Fast Break Star of the Day.
On the other hand, Lexie Allen was utilized in 50% of lineups…and did not play a single minute for Connecticut. Since she contributed no assists and no steals, she is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.
Today’s Matchups:
Dallas Wings (8-24) vs Indiana Fever (18-14)
At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Indiana Fever host the Dallas Wings in their fourth and final meeting of the season. Indiana has taken all three previous matchups, and they enter tonight as the clear favorite, riding a dominant 92–70 win over Chicago. Kelsey Mitchell continues her scoring tear, while Aliyah Boston anchors the paint. Dallas counters with rookie standout Paige Bueckers, who’s scored in double figures in every game this season, and Haley Jones, who’s quietly built a strong stretch of performances. With Indiana’s offensive rhythm and home-court advantage, the Fever are projected to complete the season sweep.
New York Liberty (5-25) vs Los Angeles Sparks (15-15)
The Los Angeles Sparks welcome the New York Liberty to Crypto.com Arena, looking to extend their three-game home win streak. L.A. won their last meeting 101–99 behind Rickea Jackson’s 24-point effort, and they enter tonight with momentum, having gone 8–2 over their last ten games. New York, still without Breanna Stewart, will lean heavily on Sabrina Ionescu, who’s averaging 21.4 points over her last ten outings. With the Sparks surging and the Liberty navigating injuries, Los Angeles could very well put another blemish on New York’s record.

Power Rankings (Week 11):
We are down to the final month of the WNBA regular season and things are heating up in the playoff race. The Lynx look untouchable, but the real drama lies in the middle of the pack—where every possession, every rebound, and every late-game run could mean the difference between a playoff berth and an early vacation. With the postseason tipping off September 14, the next few weeks will be a masterclass in urgency.
Top Seeds Locked In: Minnesota is cruising toward the No. 1 seed, while New York and Atlanta are battling for home-court advantage in the first round.
Middle Mayhem: Las Vegas, Indiana, and Phoenix are neck-and-neck for seeds 4–6. Every win matters.
Bubble Watch: Golden State, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Washington are in a four-way tug-of-war for the final two playoff spots. Seattle’s five-game skid has opened the door for the Mystics, Valkyries, & Sparks.
