WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 7 | Day 3
Today’s Objective(s): 25 Field Goals Made & 7 Three Pointers Made
Overview:
Not to be outdone by Day 1, Day 2 roared to a 98% win rate as virtually all participants earned a win on a day where only two teams were in action. There are five games today before the one-day hiatus, but we still have historical Fast Break to keep us busy for the day.
WNBA Score(s):
Lynx Obliterate Aces in Historic Blowout (Lynx 111, Aces 58)
Minnesota walked into Michelob ULTRA Arena and delivered one of the most lopsided wins of the season, dismantling Las Vegas 111–58 behind a barrage of threes and surgical ball movement. Kayla McBride led all scorers with 24 points, hitting 8-of-10 from deep, while Napheesa Collier and Jessica Shepard each added 18. The Lynx shot a blistering 59.2% from the field and 17-of-27 from three, outscoring the Aces 29–2 in fast break points and winning the rebounding battle 45–22. Las Vegas never found rhythm—Jewell Loyd’s 12 points led a team that shot just 34.3% overall. For Minnesota, it’s a statement win that reinforces their championship credentials, but they could be without their star if her ankle injury is significant.
Recap: Day 2
Courtney Williams was the most utilized player yesterday (95%) and delivered for her constituents as she piled on 9 assists on the day, which accounted for 60% of the 15 needed assists to earn a win. With her stellar performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day.
Jackie Young, on the other hand, was the third most utilized player and scraped by with the bare minimum 3.0 AST and fell well short of her projections. With the blowout loss and her mediocre contribution, she earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day.
Today’s Matchups:
New York Liberty (17-10) vs Connecticut Sun (5-21)
After stunning New York 78–62 on Friday, the Connecticut Sun host the Liberty (17–10) again, hoping to capitalize on Breanna Stewart’s absence and a rattled Liberty offense. New York remains the betting favorite, but Connecticut’s Marina Mabrey and Tina Charles are riding high after dominant performances. Expect the Sun to lean on their bench depth and defensive pressure to challenge the Liberty’s star-studded but short-handed rotation.
Washington Mystics (13-14) vs Atlanta Dream (17-11)
The Dream face the Mystics in their final regular-season meeting, holding a 2–1 edge. Atlanta is favored by 6.5 points, and Allisha Gray—fresh off a 26-point outing—is the player to watch. With Rhyne Howard sidelined, Washington will need Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen to step up to avoid a season sweep.
Indiana Fever (16-12) vs Seattle Storm (16-12)
Indiana visits Seattle in a battle for playoff positioning. The Fever have won four straight and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker, but Seattle is a slight favorite at home. Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard anchor Indiana’s frontcourt, while Nneka Ogwumike—coming off a 37-point game—is Seattle’s X-factor. This one could go down to the wire.
Phoenix Mercury (16-11) vs Chicago Sky (7-20)
Phoenix travels to Chicago after a lopsided loss to Atlanta. The Mercury are favored by 10.5 points, with Kahleah Copper and Brittney Griner expected to lead the charge. Chicago’s defense has struggled, and unless Elizabeth Williams and Angel Reese can contain Phoenix’s interior attack, this could be a runaway.
Golden State Valkyries (14-13) vs Las Vegas Aces (14-14)
Golden State rides a three-game win streak into Las Vegas, where the Aces are 4.5-point favorites…but they are coming over a 50+ point loss yesterday. A’ja Wilson remains the centerpiece for Vegas, while Veronica Burton and Tiffany Hayes have sparked Golden State’s recent surge. With playoff seeding tightening, this matchup could have long-term implications in the West.

It's essential to consider the opponents, recent performance, and any injury updates before finalizing your Fast Break lineup. Additionally, staying up to date on the latest news and adjusting your roster accordingly will enhance your chances of earning a win today.
WNBA Key Dates:
September 11: Regular Season Ends
September 14-October 17: WNBA Playoffs
Power Rankings (Week 9):
There are 44 games in a WNBA Season, so teams have anywhere between 17-20 games remaining. This means there are plenty of opportunities to make a run and rise in the rankings. Over the past week, the Sparks have gone 3-0 and 7-3 in their last 10 as they are making a push for one of the coveted playoff spots. Between 4th & 10th, there are only 4 games separating the bunch so every game will matter, but especially the head-to-heads. Chicago, Dallas, & Connecticut are the most likely to not make the cut, but they could have a stretch similar to what we’re seeing in L.A. They’re running out of time though.
