WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 6 | Day 5

Today’s Objective(s): 25 Rebounds & 10 Free Throws Made

Overview:

Four days in and we continue to see broad success. Collectors who are perfect to date have six more days to continue that streak to earn the top prize. Alternatively, Fast Breakers have a maximum of three losses to stay on track for the mid-tier reward. Put your best foot forward and get another win today.

WNBA Score(s):

Liberty Hold Off Mercury, Extend Win Streak at Barclays (NYL 89, PHO 76)

New York leaned into its core identity—spacing, tempo, and defensive grit—to notch its fifth straight win, this time over Phoenix. Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones anchored the paint, while Sabrina Ionescu orchestrated the offense with precision. The Mercury, still searching for rhythm post-break, got flashes from Kahleah Copper but couldn’t sustain momentum. For the Liberty, it’s another notch in their Eastern Conference climb—and a reminder that their versatility travels.

Lynx Blitz Aces in Statement Rout (MIN 109, LVA 78)

Minnesota didn’t just win—they sent a message. The Lynx dropped 109 points on Las Vegas, dismantling the Aces with a relentless blend of ball movement and defensive pressure. Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams led the charge, while Minnesota’s bench piled on in the second half. Vegas, despite A’ja Wilson’s steady presence, couldn’t match the Lynx’s pace or execution. At 22–4, Minnesota looks every bit the title favorite—and they’re not slowing down.

Valkyries Flip the Script, Outlast Wings in Second-Half Surge (GSV 86, DAL 76)

Golden State turned a sluggish start into a third-quarter avalanche, outscoring Dallas 33–24 to seize control at Chase Center. Temi Fagbenle and Carla Leite hit timely buckets, while the Wings leaned on Paige Bueckers for late-game shot creation. Arike Ogunbowale facilitated well, but Dallas couldn’t contain the Valkyries’ perimeter attack. For Golden State, it’s a win that stabilizes their playoff push—and showcases the depth that’s quietly emerging.

Fast Break Recap: Day 4

Day 4 required points and steals, which resulted in another day where the broad majority of Fast Break participants walked away with a win. This is also the 4th day in a row where over 70% were happy with the outcome of their lineups. Of the most utilized players, Napheesa Collier continued her consistency and delivered in both points (29) and steals (1). On the year, she’s been highly useful in Fast Break and is the frontrunner for MVP this season. She was also your Fast Break Star of the Day.

On the other hand, Satou Sabally was the biggest disappointment on the day as she was the second most utilized player, yet only contributed 6 points along with her no steals. With her lackluster performance, she earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Today’s Matchups:

Los Angeles Sparks (10-14) vs New York Liberty (17-6) | 7:00PM ET | 11:00PM UTC

At Barclays Center, the Liberty host the Sparks in a matchup that leans heavily toward the home team. With a 69.8% win probability, New York rides a four-game win streak and the steady brilliance of Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu. The Sparks counter with Dearica Hamby and Kelsey Plum, both capable of pushing pace and creating mismatches, and have helped L.A. to recent success. However, they are significant underdogs in this contest. Expect the Liberty’s cohesion and perimeter shooting to set the tone early, with the Liberty favored to extend its dominance.

Seattle Storm (15-10) vs Washington Mystics (11-12) | 7:30PM ET | 11:30PM UTC

CareFirst Arena sets the stage for a rematch between the Mystics and Storm, with Seattle entering as the favorite at 67.1% win probability. The Mystics edged out the Storm 74–69 in their last meeting, but Seattle’s veteran core—Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins—has found rhythm post-break. Washington will lean on Brittney Sykes and Kiki Iriafen to replicate their defensive intensity, but Seattle’s road poise and interior scoring give them the edge in what could be a tightly contested bounce-back effort.

Today’s Objective(s): Day 5

You’ll need five (5) players who will accumulate 25.0 or more rebounds and sink 10.0 or more free throws, which means each player will need to average 5.0 REB & 2.0 FTM.

You’ll be looking for players who slash to the rim and draws contact and/or players who hover around the paint. There are a number of players who can get you both rebounds and free throws, but some have a higher percentage than others. As there are only four teams in action and we are about the midway point of this run, your player options may start to dwindle, so plan accordingly.

Top Player Options:

  • Little of Both: Breanna Stewart, Dearica Hamby, Shakira Austin

  • Glass Crashers: Azura Stevens, Jonquel Jones, Dearica Hamby, Shakira Austin, Kiki Iriafen, Nneka Ogwumike, Ezi Magbegor, Breanna Stewart
