WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 3 | Day 8

Today’s Objective(s): 20 Rebounds & 20 Points in the Paint

Recap & Overview:

Trap Game Takes a Toll on Collectors

With only one game on the slate and the objective focused solely on points, many anticipated a straightforward win—but it turned into a Fast Break minefield. Despite the low threshold, only 40% of participants walked away victorious, marking the second-straight day under 50%.

The main culprit? Tina Charles, rostered in a staggering 93% of lineups, managed just 2 points in 14 minutes, falling far short of projections and delivering a crushing blow to collector hopes. For that performance, she earns the title of Fast Break Dud of the Day.

There was a silver lining, however—Alyssa Thomas put up a solid 14 points, one of only three players to hit that mark, and buoyed 70% of lineups who had her plugged in. With that effort, she claims Fast Break Star of the Day honors.

Tonight’s Slate: Tired Legs and Thin Benches

Today, there are two games scheduled. Phoenix have a tough task ahead of them as they’ll be playing the one-loss Liberty and doing so after playing a game yesterday.

In the other matchup, Indiana heads to Golden State, who look to continue their strong start on the season. They, however, have the most (by far) number of players who are away at EuroBasket. The Fever can’t take it easy on the expansion team though as they’ve shown they are capable of finding ways to win.

Unavailable Players Due to EuroBasket

  • Golden State: Janelle Salaun, Cecilia Zandalasini, Juste Jocyte, Julie Vanloo, Temi Fagbenle

  • Dallas: Teaira McCowan, Luisa Geiselsoder

  • Los Angeles: Julie Allemand

  • Minnesota: Jessica Shepard

  • New York: Leonie Fiebich

But the show must go on, so let’s get into today’s projections.

That’s two losses in a row. With Tina Charles’s stinker of a day, we didn’t have the point scorers to make up the difference. That means we have four games to earn two wins.
