WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 3 | Day 5
Today’s Objective(s): 5 Three Pointers Made & 12 Three Point Attempts
Recap & Overview:
High Scores, Higher Stakes: The WNBA Heats Up
With two teams cracking the 100-point mark in a single night, the WNBA showcased just how electric it can be—even within a shortened game format compared to the NBA (40 minutes instead of 48 regulation minutes). Minnesota bounced back in dominant fashion, unloading their frustrations on the Sparks in a 101–78 win. A needed statement from a team that knows how to respond.
Valkyrie Surge and Liberty Stumble
The Golden State Valkyrie continued their impressive debut season, taking down Seattle in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score suggested. From wire to wire, Golden State dictated the pace, with another Chase Center sellout soaking in every moment. With momentum on their side and a booming fan base, the Valkyrie could be more than just a playoff hopeful—they might be a bracket buster in the making.
Meanwhile, the marquee matchup of the day brought drama and a shift in power, as Indiana welcomed back Caitlin Clark and handed New York their first loss of the season. Clark’s presence elevated the entire team. After pulling away in the third and fending off a brief Liberty surge, Indiana closed strong for a 102–88 win. The victory vaults them into the driver’s seat in the Eastern Conference Commissioner’s Cup race.
Commissioner’s Cup Scenarios: Crunch Time
The race for July 1st’s Cup Final is heating up:
Eastern Conference Outlook:
Indiana controls its fate with a win over Connecticut but must hope Atlanta drops at least one game.
Atlanta must beat both New York and Washington to slide past Indiana.
New York needs Indiana to lose their final game against Connecticut.
Western Conference Outlook:
Minnesota reclaims the top spot after Seattle’s slip. One more win against Las Vegas seals the deal.
If they lose, the final spot could go to Golden State, Seattle, or Phoenix, depending on tiebreakers.
Fast Break Recap: Offense Reigns Supreme
In yesterday’s Fast Break, over 90% of participants won again for the fourth straight day. As points were required, both Sabrina Ionescu and Napheesa Collier saw usage of 67% and 76% respectively, and both delivered 30+ point outings, which covered over 50% of the day’s objective. With their performances, they earned the Fast Break Stars of the Day. Honorable mention goes to Caitlin Clark who was the 3rd player to score 30+ on the day.
Of the top five players utilized, only Dearica Hamby scored less than 20 points and even scored below the needed threshold. Although this lackluster performance didn’t lead to any losses, it did hinder these collectors’ ability to earn a daily reward. As such, she is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.
Fast Break Preview: Let It Fly from Deep
Today’s objective requires three pointers made & taken, but the threshold is low so it’ll likely be another 90%+ win day, which maintains the potential for multiple collectors with 11-wins. Before we can get to perfection, we’ll need another win so let’s dive into today’s projections.
Today’s Objective(s):
WNBA Fast Break Day 5 requires five (5) players who will make 5.0 or more and take 12.0 or more three pointers, which means each player will need to average 1.0 3PM & 2.4 3PA. With six (6) teams in action today and the very low threshold, you should have no problems earning a win today. This should also mean you have more flexibility in your lineups so you won’t need to use all your best players (unless you have an extensive collection and you’re pushing for the daily).
Three Point Takers & Makers: Rhyne Howard, Marina Mabrey, Allisha Gray, Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray, Jewell Loyd, Satou Sabally, Rachel Banham, Kitija Laksa, Ariel Atkins
Top Five (5) Players in Pro Lineups: J. Loyd (80%), M. Mabrey (71%), C. Gray (54%), R. Howard (47%), K. Nurse (33%)
Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:
Tomorrow: 10 Offensive Rebounds & 2 Blocks (2.0 OREB & 0.4 BLK)
Objectives remaining (after today):
2x: BLK, PTS
1x: OREB, REB, PITP, AST, STL, FGM, 3PM
Considerations:
Connecticut has the most number of games remaining (5)
Los Angeles & Minnesota have the least number of games remaining (2)
Day 7 has the least number of teams in action (2)
Day 6 (Tuesday) & Day 11 have the most number of teams in action (10+)
Every other day has either 4 or 6 teams in action
There are no games scheduled on June 16th (tomorrow)

Tome Collective’s WNBA Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Four days in and we are three wins away from the mid-tier reward, which requires 7 wins. We would need to continue the win streak all the way through to the final day for the 11-win reward, which is unlikely, but we’ll keep the hopes up for now.
