WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 2 | Day 9
Today’s Objective(s): 25 Field Goals Made & 40 Field Goal Attempts
Recap & Overview:
Commissioner’s Cup Action Continues
The WNBA Commissioner’s Cup continued, with Atlanta aiming to keep pace with New York, but Marina Mabrey had other plans, dropping 34 points—the second-highest total of her career—to lead Connecticut to victory. If New York stays undefeated in Cup play, they’ll represent the Eastern Conference in the championship.
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Sparks snapped their three-game skid, securing their first Commissioner’s Cup win with a 93-79 victory over Dallas, who again played without Paige Bueckers due to concussion protocol.
Commissioner’s Cup Matchups: Key Stakes Today
Today’s three (3) games bring high-impact stakes for teams chasing Cup victories:
Las Vegas vs. Golden State: The Aces aim to stay perfect in Cup play, while Golden State seeks its first win.
Indiana vs. Chicago: The Sky make their Commissioner’s Cup debut, while Indiana looks to gain momentum.
Seattle vs. Phoenix: Both teams are at risk of falling out of Cup contention with a loss, but since wins still count toward regular-season standings, tonight’s battle remains crucial.
Fast Break Recap: Another Strong Win Rate
Fast Break Day 8 required 3 steals and 3 blocks, leading to a 77% win rate—another high-success day for collectors.
Azura Stevens met expectations, delivering 3 blocks and 2 steals, covering 100% of one objective and 67% of the other. With 53% of lineups featuring her, she contributed heavily to the high success rate, earning the Fast Break Star of the Day.
NaLyssa Smith struggled, playing only six minutes and contributing zero blocks or steals, which hurt the 36% of collectors who rostered her, making her the Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Barely achieved the blocks, but a win is a win. With three (3) more days, we’ll need to win out if we have any shot at clawing our way into the top 250. Unlikely, but it’s worth the push.
