WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 2 | Day 3
Today’s Objective(s): 10 Offensive Rebounds & 30 Points in the Paint
Recap & Overview:
Liberty Stay Perfect, Golden State Impresses in Close Loss
The New York Liberty improved to 5-0, but Golden State kept things closer than expected, falling by just five points to the defending champions. Though the Valkyrie were projected to finish last (13th) in preseason rankings, their strong play suggests they could sneak into playoff contention in their debut season.
Meanwhile, Chicago finally broke through, earning its first win of the year. With another matchup against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings coming soon, a win streak could help them salvage their early struggles. However as we crest the 10% mark of the season, consistency across the lineup remains crucial if they want to meet their aspirations of reaching the playoffs.
Fast Break Recap: A Refreshing Boost in Success Rate
Fast Break Day 2 proved far more generous, with an impressive 97% success rate—a welcome improvement compared to yesterday’s brutal results and the low rates throughout Run 1.
Courtney Vandersloot led the way, recording nine assists and five steals, helping 92% of collectors who rostered her. Her standout performance earned her the Fast Break Star of the Day.
Unlike previous days, none of the top five most-utilized players flopped, meaning there were no Duds—a rare and positive outcome.
Tonight’s Slate: Key Matchups & Fast Break Strategy
With five games on the schedule, 77% of the league is in action, making this a high-variance night for Fast Break lineups. Days like this provide an expansive pool of players, meaning collectors should maximize their flexibility and check flowty.io for moments of players you’ll want to add to your collection.
Here’s what’s on tap:
Connecticut vs. Indiana: The Sun seek their first win, but even without Caitlin Clark for another 10 days, the Fever have the talent to keep Connecticut winless.
New York vs. Washington: The Liberty put their undefeated streak on the line against the Mystics, a team outperforming expectations that could secure a statement win.
Meanwhile, three late games tip off simultaneously, allowing collectors to swap out early-game players if necessary:
Las Vegas vs. Los Angeles: The Aces look to get back on track.
Minnesota vs. Phoenix: The 5-0 Lynx hope to stay perfect against the 4-1 Mercury.
Atlanta vs. Seattle: The Dream face a major challenge against the Storm.
With three late matchups, lineup flexibility will be key, but checking injury reports and expected rotations before tip-off will be essential. Let’s dive into Fast Break projections, lineup strategy, and key plays for today’s challenge.
