WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 1 | Day 3

Today’s Objective(s): 3 Blocks & 30 Rebounds

Recap & Overview:

WNBA Opening Night: Blowouts & Statement Wins

None of yesterday’s three matchups were close, as the New York Liberty, Indiana Fever, and Phoenix Mercury all won by at least 14 points—with New York and Las Vegas being the only game within 20 points. The highly anticipated matchup between the consensus favorite title contenders ended up a blowout and the rivalry matchup between Caitlin Clark & Angel Reese was heavily one-sided.

While it’s only the first game of the season, the Fever are already proving they’re ready to contend, while Chicago has room for growth. Phoenix and Seattle were projected to be mid-to-lower-tier teams, but their scoring disparity suggests one may outperform preseason expectations.

Fast Break Recap: Assists & Three-Pointers

With Fast Break, yesterday needed 20 assists and 10 three pointers made. Jackie Young was utilized in 49% of lineups and delivered 5 assists & 4 three pointers, which accounted for 25% and 20% of yesterday’s objectives. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day. Honorable mention goes to Caitlin Clark who had 10 assists and 4 three pointers.

In total, there were only 15% of lineups who earned a win and some of that deficiency is at the hand of Sabrina Ionescu, who was utilized in the most lineups (65%), but she had no three pointer (0 for 5) and only one assist. With her lackluster performance, she is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Looking Ahead: Blocks & Rebounds

Today, you’ll need blocks and rebounds. Keep in mind there are only two games today and the rookie year badge on Pro mode makes it even more limited. Keep scrolling for the best player picks based on today’s objectives.

Fast Break Strategy: What You Need to Compete

Understanding the WNBA & Fast Break Strategy:

For those unfamiliar with the WNBA, the league consists of 13 teams, including the newly expanded Golden State Valkyries. Each team plays 44 games per season, with 10-minute quarters, and 8 teams qualify for the playoffs.

Compared to the NBA, the WNBA has fewer games and teams, which makes Fast Break lineup options much narrower. As a result, rare and legendary moments are significantly more valuable, offering greater flexibility to secure daily wins. If you’re limited to common moments, you’ll need to be strategic with each run to maximize success.

Additionally, WNBA moments are more scarce than NBA moments, with only 29K rares and 4K legendaries available for active players. As a Tome+ member, you can access WNBA Fast Break Targets, which provide a statistical breakdown of top players alongside their current rare/legendary prices.

The most valuable players in Fast Break are those who excel across multiple stat categories, as they can be used on various days based on the objective requirements.

There are four (4) teams in action today and this will be so you have plenty of options — especially since this is Connecticut’s first game of the season. This will be the second game of the other three teams’ season. Napheesa Collier will be one of the cheat codes for the season based on her versatility and it shows today. If you have a chance at grabbing one of her rares or legendaries, it’ll serve you well this season.
