WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 1 | Day 2

Today’s Objective(s): 20 Assists & 10 Three Pointers Made

Recap & Overview:

Fast Break Kicks Off with a Bang

With 94% of Fast Break lineups earning a win, the season started strong for most participants. Kelsey Plum, included in 71% of lineups, made an emphatic debut with the LA Sparks, dropping 37 points against the expansion Golden State Valkyrie. After being traded from the Las Vegas Aces in the offseason, Plum is looking to lead LA back to the postseason. With her stellar performance, she earns the Fast Break Star of the Day.

Rhyne Howard, on the other hand was utilized in 42% of lineups and struggled in Atlanta’s season opener, scoring just 11 points as the Dream fell to a rebuilding Washington Mystics squad. A rough start for both Howard and Fast Break participants who relied on her, making her the Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Today’s Matchups: Heavyweight Battles & Rivalries

Three games are on the schedule today, including a highly anticipated showdown between two WNBA powerhouses:

  • New York Liberty (defending champions) vs. Las Vegas Aces (prior-year champions)

  • Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky vs. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever

  • Seattle Storm vs. Phoenix Mercury (nightcap)

If you forget to set your lineup or need a replacement, the Storm-Mercury matchup offers a late-game option.

Fast Break Strategy: What You Need to Compete

Understanding the WNBA & Fast Break Strategy:

For those unfamiliar with the WNBA, the league consists of 13 teams, including the newly expanded Golden State Valkyries. Each team plays 44 games per season, with 10-minute quarters, and 8 teams qualify for the playoffs.

Compared to the NBA, the WNBA has fewer games and teams, which makes Fast Break lineup options much narrower. As a result, rare and legendary moments are significantly more valuable, offering greater flexibility to secure daily wins. If you’re limited to common moments, you’ll need to be strategic with each run to maximize success.

Additionally, WNBA moments are more scarce than NBA moments, with only 29K rares and 4K legendaries available for active players. As a Tome+ member, you can access WNBA Fast Break Targets, which provide a statistical breakdown of top players alongside their current rare/legendary prices.

The most valuable players in Fast Break are those who excel across multiple stat categories, as they can be used on various days based on the objective requirements.
