WNBA Fast Break Classic | Preseason | Day 8

Today’s Objective(s): 3 Three Pointers Made & 15.0 Field Goals Made

Recap & Overview:

Of the seven days of this WNBA Fast Break series, only Day 1 had more than 40% earn a win, so it has been challenging to say the least. Although there were five (5) teams in action yesterday and you had more player options than usual, only 225 Fast Breakers earned a win (17%). If yesterday were a regular season day, the objective likely would have been achieved easily, but preseason continues to elude many collectors.

Arike Ogunbowale led the way for 49% of lineups as she delivered 6 assists & 2 steals. If, however, you were one of the 35% who started Napheesa Collier, she only gave you a single steal with no assists. As she is a primary scorer, she didn’t spend much time distributing, which aligns with her career average of 2.9 assists per game.

Today marks the final day of WNBA Preseason Fast Break. There are two (2) teams in action today, so your player options continue to be limited. In this Fast Break run, 19 collectors have accumulated an impressive five wins so far. Should they land in the top five, they’ll earn a WNBA Metallic Gold pack. If you place in the top 200, you’ll earn a WNBA Quick Rip pack. If you have two (2) wins to date, you have a chance at walking away with a run-based reward.

WNBA for the Uninitiated:

For those who are unfamiliar with the WNBA, there are 13 teams in total (including the expansion team Golden State Valkyries), 44 games played by each team, and they play 10-minute quarters. Of the 13 teams, 8 will make the playoffs. This means there are less teams in action each day and there are less games overall, so Fast Break options are much narrower than their NBA counterpart. This makes rare and legendary moments more relevant to earn wins each day for greater flexibility, but it also means you’ll need to be more strategic each run if you’re limited to common moments. It is also worth noting that WNBA moments are more scarce than the NBA as there are only 29K rares and 4K legendaries of active players. If you are a tome+ subscriber, you have access to the WNBA Fast Break Targets that provides a statistical breakdown of the top players and their current rare/legendary prices. Players who are the most versatile across multiple stat categories are the most valuable as they can be played on multiple days based on need.

Tome Collective’s WNBA Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

We are running this series back for the WNBA Season. Check back daily for our lineups along with likely adjustments when the WNBA Season begins.
