NBA Fast Break Classic | Conference Semifinals | Day 7

Today’s Objective(s): 25 Field Goals Made & 40 Field Goal Attempts

Recap & Overview:

The Boston Celtics led the NBA in three-pointers per game during the regular season, averaging 48.5 attempts and setting a new single-season record for attempts. They also made the most threes with 1,457 total makes. As seen in Games 1 & 2, they live and die by the three. Despite losing both matchups, neither were blowouts, meaning a higher shooting percentage could shift the series. That’s exactly what happened in Game 3, as Boston secured their first win, 115-93, over the New York Knicks.

In the late game, Minnesota and Golden State battled in a (mostly) tight Game 3 in the Bay Area. Steph Curry remained sidelined, but Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kuminga stepped up to keep the Warriors in the fight. However, Anthony Edwards refused to let Minnesota lose, dropping a game-high 36 points to push the Timberwolves ahead in the series going into Game 4 tomorrow.

Now, let’s talk Fast Break.

Yesterday’s Fast Break objective focused on points scored and steals, with 48% of participants earning a win — many of whom relied upon Anthony Edwards, who appeared in 48% of lineups. While he didn’t record any steals, he accounted for nearly half of the required points, earning the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

On the other hand, OG Anunoby was the most heavily utilized player (61% of lineups) due to his scoring and defensive prowess this postseason. But he disappeared, managing just two points and zero steals. His underwhelming performance earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day, likely sinking many lineups.

Oklahoma City & Cleveland are the two No. 1-seeds this postseason and are both down two games to one. They are both playing on the road in hostile environments and are at risk of going down three games to one unless they can pull out the victory today. In their previous games, Cleveland welcomed back Mobley, Garland, and Hunter, who helped them win easily in Indy. Oklahoma City, though, could not re-create the dominance they had in Game 2 and fell to the Nuggets in overtime.

The first game tips off early—set your lineups and enjoy the action.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 7 requires five (5) players who will make 25.0 or more and take 40.0 or more field goals, which means each player will need to average at least 5.0 FGM & 8.0 FGA per player. The former will determine whether you win and the latter will determine where you rank. There are four (4) teams in action today and your player options should manageable, but things will get tighter with each passing day as each series gets extended further. Depending on your collection, you should have a relatively easy time reaching today’s objective.

Yesterday we achieved the steals, but came up short on the points thanks to OG’s 2 points scored. Brutal run for us, which all but means we can’t reach our 7-win objective. We’ll finish out this series and regroup for the next.
