NBA Fast Break Classic | Conference Finals | Day 8

Today’s Objective(s): 10 Three Pointers Made & 20 Three Point Attempts

Recap & Overview:

Thunder Edge Timberwolves in Tight Game 4 Battle

The Timberwolves and Thunder squared off in Game 4 in Minnesota and the game remained relatively close throughout the evening. Julius Randle’s inconsistency remained a storyline, as he struggled shooting just 1-of-7 from the field, a stark contrast to his Game 3 performance. Anthony Edwards also had a tough night, hitting just 38.5% of his shots, including 1-for-7 from beyond the arc.

Despite their stars struggling, Minnesota found production elsewhere, as Jaden McDaniels, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Donte DiVincenzo each delivered 20+ points to keep the game competitive. By the end of the third quarter, Minnesota trailed by just five points, continually threatening to take the lead but unable to break through.

With 22 seconds left, the Timberwolves cut the deficit to two points, and with seven seconds remaining, they came within one. However, two clutch free throws from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander extended OKC’s lead back to three, forcing Minnesota into a make-and-miss scenario with Anthony Edwards at the line, which failed to materialize.

With their Game 4 win, Oklahoma City heads home looking to close out the series in front of an electric crowd. A win would send them to their first NBA Finals since 2012, where they previously lost to LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

If Minnesota can force Game 6, they’ll get another shot on their home court on May 30th, keeping their Finals hopes alive. But OKC has the talent and confidence to end it now with a statement performance.

Fast Break Recap: DiVincenzo Steps Up, Joe & Reid Struggle

Yesterday’s Fast Break objective required 10 three-pointers made and 20 attempts, leading to a relatively successful day, with 40% of participants earning a win—a significant improvement from the previous two days, where only 100 total collectors secured victories.

Donte DiVincenzo, utilized in 50% of lineups, delivered five made threes on eight attempts, earning him the Fast Break Stud of the Day. On the other end, Isaiah Joe and Naz Reid contributed just one made three-pointer each on two attempts, earning them the co-Duds of the Day. Anthony Edwards and Lu Dort also struggled, making just one three-pointer each, but at least attempted more shots.

Game 4 Preview: Knicks vs. Pacers in Another Likely Thriller

While the Thunder-Timberwolves series has featured several blowouts, the Knicks-Pacers matchup has delivered non-stop excitement, with each game coming down to the wire.

Tonight, the Knicks look to even the series with another road win, while Indiana aims to protect home court and push their advantage to 3-1. Expect another intense, high-energy battle, where every possession matters.

With today’s Fast Break focus on three-pointers made, collectors will be tracking long-range shooting closely, keeping an eye on both makes and attempts as the game unfolds. With that said, let’s dive into the projections for today.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 8 requires five (5) players who will sink 10.0 three pointers out of 20.0 three point attempts, which means each player will need to average at least 2.0 3PM & 4.0 3PA. The former will determine whether you earn a win and the latter will dictate where you rank. There are only two (2) teams in action today (and every day this run) and this will be the fourth game of the Eastern Conference Finals, so your available players are likely starting to feel strained. Since New York won Game 3, there will be a Game 5. If they win today, there will be a Game 6, so plan accordingly.

  • Three Point Shooters: Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Haliburton, OG Anunoby, Aaron Nesmith, Mikal Bridges

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: O. Anunoby (52%), T. Haliburton (49%), A. Nesmith (47%), M. Bridges (43%), J. Brunson (40%)

  • Day 9 & 10: 25 Points in the Paint & 5 Offensive Rebounds (5.0 PITP & 1.0 OREB)

Considerations:

  • New York’s win means there will be a game on Day 10

  • Games on Day 11-14 are dependent upon outcomes of each series

  • There will be only one (1) game each day for this run

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even if we had a 5th player, we would not have reached the necessary threshold as none of our four made more than 1 three pointer. Today also required 3PM & 3PA, so we are hoping Nesmith is available—otherwise, we’re toast.
