NBA Fast Break Classic | Playoffs Round 1 | Day 14

Today’s Objective(s): 35 Points in the Paint

Recap & Overview:

The Detroit Pistons were down by eleven (11) points heading into the 4th quarter and it looked bleak for their playoff hopes. They then went on a big run to swing the momentum their way and tied the game with 6:06 remaining in the game. With 2:35 to go, the Pistons led by seven (7) points, but then the Knicks went on a run of their own, closing the game on a 8-1 run including a three-point dagger by Brunson with 0:05 to play. The Pistons had a chance to tie at the end of the game, but Beasley turned the ball over to end their season. The Knicks move on and will meet the second seeded Boston Celtics in the next round.

Speaking of Malik Beasley, he is synonymous with Fast Break 3PM & 3PA days considering the volume of his three point takes and makes, but he was utilized in only 26% of lineups, which can be attributed to the nature of this postseason run where lineups are heavily strained. As Malik was the 7th most utilized player, he does not qualify for Fast Break Stud of the Day, but it is worth mentioning that he was 6 of 13 from outside the arc. The second best option on the day was OG Anunoby who was leaned upon by 63% of Fast Breakers and delivered 6 makes out of 10 attempts, which means he is your Fast Break Stud of the Day. On the other end of the Spectrum were Michael Porter Jr., Mikal Bridges, and Tim Hardaway Jr. as each had only one (1) make yesterday, so they are your Fast Break co-Duds of the Day.

With Denver losing to the Clippers, theirs will be the only series that will go the full seven (7) games to determine a winner which will take place on Day 15 in Colorado. Should Houston beat Golden State today, they will also go to a Game 7 on Day 16. If they do not, there will not be a game on the final day of this run. With that said, your opportunities to secure wins are becoming thinner and thinner. Considering we’ve seen five (5) straight days of seeing less than 56% winners, many are fighting for that last win to earn a pack or want to win daily to maximize their daily/run-based rewards.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 14 requires five (5) players who will score 35.0 or more points in the paint, which means each player will need to average at least 7.0 PITP per player. With only two (2) teams in action today and considering where we are in the series, your collection is likely strained and options are quite limited.

  • Inside Scorers: Alperen Sengun, Jimmy Butler, Amen Thompson, Stephen Curry

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: OG Anunoby (66%), T. Hardaway Jr. (61%), B. Bogdanovic (43%), M. Bridge (41%), M. Porter Jr. (41%)

NBA Playoffs:

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow: Rebounds (how many of each is TBD)

  • After Today (objective frequency; excluding today’s objective): FGM, FGA, AST, REB

  • Three series remain (Knicks/Pistons; Nuggets/Clippers; Houston/Golden State)

  • Day 14 will only have one (1) scheduled game

  • Day 15-16 will depend on the result on Day 13 & 14

  • Day 14-16 have the correct objectives & badges, but the required thresholds will be updated (more than 1 will be needed)

Tome Collective’s Fast Break NBA Playoffs Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

We were 1 3PM & 1 3PA away from earning a win, but to no avail which makes it four straight losses. We are effectively scraping the bottom of the barrel today as our collection is very strained. Good news - we already reached our seven (7) win objective at least.
