NBA Fast Break Classic | Playoffs Round 1 | Day 9
Today’s Objective(s): 20 Assists Minus Turnovers
Recap & Overview:
Yesterday produced another exhilarating day of playoff basketball where we saw the completion of a sweep in Memphis, a continuation of dominance in Miami at the hands of Cleveland, a return to winning ways in Golden State, and the “first” ever postseason dunk buzzer beater (although the ‘Valley Oop’ in 2021 comes to mind as another game-winning dunk in the postseason). We have four (4) more games today and each are currently stand at two games to one, so either we’ll see more series reaching level or some will have a commanding 3-1 lead. With yesterday’s elimination of the Memphis Grizzlies, it is worth noting that SGA, Jalen Williams, Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson, and other stars will not be available for the remainder of this series.
With about eight (8) days remaining in this Fast Break run and the first round of the 2024-2025 NBA Playoffs, we are officially at the midway point of this series. Yesterday, 85% of lineups walked away with a win as players like SGA, Joker, and Kawhi all had 30+ FGM & FGA. Of this bunch, Joker was the cream of the crop who had 39 total FGM & FGA, which earned him the Fast Break Stud of the Day. On the other hand, Tyler Herro only had 5 field goals made out of his 13 attempts for the 46% of lineups, which earned him the Fast Break Dud of the Day award. He and the Heat are on the brink of elimination and another stinker of a performance may be enough to see their departure come to fruition.
NBA Top Shot Playoff Set:
Speaking of Aaron Gordon’s buzzer beater, it will be the first playoff moment minted this postseason, which gives us a lens into how this postseason will work. Currently, you can pre-order packs that will have a chance at pulling the common, rare, or legendary version of the moment for $15 with a buyback offer of $9 per pack. Additionally, you can trade in any moments of Aaron Gordon to rank on the leaderboard, which will earn a moment based on the tier.
Any ten (10) common moments traded will earn the common version of Aaron Gordon’s playoff moment (while supplies last; reminder the mint serial is capped at 2,025)
Top 100 trade-in leaderboard earns the rare version of Aaron Gordon’s playoff moment ($30 average sales price is needed to be eligible)
Top 25 trade-in leaderboard earns the legendary version of Aaron Gordon’s playoff moment ($300 average sales price is needed to be eligible)
As a reminder, each tier of the moment will have enhanced visuals, so it won’t be the exact same moment for each tier. Also note that this is the first moment of these respective sets that will need to be locked for the physical rewards. It’ll be interesting to see how much interest there is in these packs, but the prices of Aaron Gordon’s rare and legendary moments have already spiked in value. On a positive note, the multiple ways to earn this moment is a good sign and hopefully will continue - buy the pack, trade in moments, participate in the leaderboards, or buy in the secondary.
Depending on how today’s games go, we may see the next memorable moment minted. As we all witness history unfolding, be sure to set your Fast Break lineups accordingly while watching for meaningful injuries.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 9 requires five (5) players who will accumulate 20.0 or more assists than turnovers, which means each player will need to average at least 4.0 AST-TO per player. This is one of the more dreaded days as your progress will ebb and flow as each player gains an assist and is responsible for a turnover. Anticipate a nail-biting day where it will come down to your final player.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break NBA Playoffs Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Win number six earned yesterday as SGA and others took care of business. We are one win away from reaching the primary goal, but the bigger objective will be to place in the top 200…but that will not be easy considering we are currently in the 500s. Best way to maximize our chances is to keep winning. Here’s our (hopefully) winning lineup today.
