NBA Fast Break Classic | Playoffs Round 1 | Day 8
Today’s Objective(s): 30 Field Goals Made & 40 Field Goal Attempts
Recap & Overview:
Orlando & Milwaukee were both down 0-2, but earned a win on home court in front of loud, supportive crowds. Memphis and Miami are the only two teams who have not earned a win yet and both are in action today. Memphis, however, is the first team at risk of being swept. They’ll have a tall task ahead of them as Ja Morant will not be available today and was also the catalyst behind their collapse two days ago. Once Lu Dort undercut him at the end of the second period, which took him out of the game, it was all downhill from there and ignited a 33 point differential.
Speaking of losses, 53% of lineups yesterday fell short of the 30 rebound & 3 block goal which is surprising considering the lower than usual threshold. The two catalysts to those losses were Myles Turner, who was utilized in 70% of lineups, and Rudy Gobert, who was utilized in 56% of lineups as they both could only corral 3 rebounds (but provided one (1) block) apiece. When you needed on average 6 rebounds each, that established a significant anchor - especially if you had both in your lineup. As such, they are your Fast Break co-Duds of the Day. On the other hand, Wendell Carter was present in 41% of lineups and gathered 12 rebounds and had a block, which earned him the Fast Break Stud of the Day.
As a reminder (considering it wasn’t communicated from the beginning) Day 10-16 have their objectives outlined, but each states the goal is one (1). Based on a disclaimer that can be found at the bottom of the Fast Break screen, these are simply placeholders and the true objective thresholds will be updated as teams are determined. That means that although seven (7) wins is feasible regardless of the scope of your collection, it is no guarantee - especially if you front-loaded your lineups. Keep an eye on the progress of the NBA Playoffs to give you some insight into how the series will pan out. Of the eight (8) games, only two (2) have the possibility of a sweep so that means at least six (6) will extend into these days.
The outcomes of today’s games will have a meaningful impact on the tail end of this Fast Break run, so enjoy the chaos and dive into today’s projections.

Win number five earned yesterday thanks to Wendell Carter. We originally had Ja Morant in our lineup, but his injury has knocked him out of today’s game against OKC and likely Memphis’s last game of this playoffs. We are two (2) wins away from earning the 7-win reward.
