NBA Fast Break Classic | Playoffs Round 1 | Day 7
Today’s Objective(s): 3 Blocks & 30 Rebounds
Recap & Overview:
Memphis had a commanding lead over Oklahoma City and led by as many as 27 points. Then, Ja Morant was undercut by Lu Dort, sustained a hip injury at the end of the second quarter, and did not return. From there, Oklahoma City outscored Memphis by 33 points the rest of the way and are one win away from sweeping the Grizzlies. In the other night cap, the Clippers dismantled the Nuggets and won by 34 points and take a 2-1 series lead. In the early game, New York held off a feisty Pistons team who were clawing until the end to take a 2-1 series lead, also.
In addition to knocking out Memphis’s spark plug, Lu Dort had an abysmal performance from outside as he went 0-4 from deep. Although he wasn’t one of the five most utilized players, he was the 6th most and was found in 43% of lineups. As only 25% of Fast Breakers earned a win, he was likely a big contributor to the losses. Additionally, Isaiah Joe was utilized in 45% of lineups and contributed a measly 2 of 3 from outside, so he earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day. Of the other four players (Harden, Beasley, Powell, & Bane), Beasley & Bane only had two makes whereas Harden & Powell had three makes. If you were one of the 11% of lineups who started Tim Hardaway, you benefited from his 7 of 12 from outside the arc.
It is worth noting that Day 10-16 have their objectives outlined, but each states the goal is one (1). Based on a disclaimer on the Fast Break screen, these are simply placeholders and the true objective thresholds will be updated as teams are determined. That means that although seven (7) wins is feasible regardless of the scope of your collection, it is no guarantee - especially if you front-loaded your lineups. Keep an eye on the progress of the NBA Playoffs to give you some insight into how the series will pan out.
Also, information was provided for the NBA Top Shot Playoff sets and confirmation was provided that trade-ups will be utilized similar to last season. The “how” though, has not been divulged, so more information will be provided at a later date - ideally sooner rather than later. As a reminder for the Playoff Sets: Commons will be minted to 2,025, rares to 299, legendaries to 75, and ultimates to 10 and each tier will come with set completion rewards.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break NBA Playoffs Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Yesterday did not go well as only Harden crested three (3) three-pointers. Brunson, Joe, Beasley, and Murray all had two or less, which was a recipe for disaster. Going for win number five today with this lineup.
