NBA Fast Break Classic | Playoffs Round 1 | Day 2
Today’s Objective(s): 30 Assists
Recap & Overview:
Day 1 of the NBA Playoffs did not disappoint as we had an overtime thriller in Denver (where Jokic was almost ejected in the 4th), a blowout win in Indiana, a dismantling of the Lakers at the hands of Minnesota, and a beatdown of Detroit in New York. Day 2 will have the one and two seeds in action, but I would not discount the underdogs as some may be ready to put up a fight. In some cases, the higher seed is being viewed as the underdog (Golden State has 15-1 odds to win the championship compared to Houston who are 80-1 odds), so today’s games should have some fireworks, also.
Before we look too far ahead, let’s recap what happened yesterday. If your lineup had at least 57 field goals made, you would have earned some Dapper (top 10) or a Fast Break Playoff Pack (190). A lineup with 56 FGM meant a tiebreaker determined who was in and who was out. If you were one of the 56% who had Giannis in your lineup, he set the tone with 14 field goals made and is your Fast Break Stud of the Day. Joker (45%), Luka (34%), and Brunson (52%) all contributed 12 field goals, so they were positive plays also. Anthony Edwards (61%) and Cunningham (50%) had an ok day with 8 field goals, but their performance likely kept you out of the top 200. Since none of the highest utilized players grossly underperformed, there are no Duds from yesterday.
Remember this series requires a different approach as your regular season strategy will differ from your playoff strategy. Yes, you want to achieve the 7-wins to earn a pack, but each day gives you additional opportunities to earn more packs by placing in the top 200. You also want to earn wins each day so you have a chance at the top 100 overall rewards. So, the final seven days will be important as those are guaranteed wins so long as you place well in the first ten (10) days but it could shuffle the standings meaningfully. With each passing day, the landscape of the playoffs will have a direct impact on the players you can utilize in your lineup, so it is prudent to ensure you stay apprised of the progress of the NBA Playoffs…of visit this page often for a daily summary. On that note, let’s dive into today’s objective.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 2 requires five (5) players who will distribute 30.0 or more assists, which means each player will need to average at least 6.0 AST. Today may be the first day in about a week where we fall below 90% in wins, but the lower than usual threshold means the success rate has a high probability of remaining high. With the daily reward inclusive of the top 200, you have the opportunity to earn more than the 7-win reward. The challenge though, is the few number of available players. You could have 4 of the top 5 best players of the day, but still fall out of the top tier as someone else may have that 5th best player. It means picking the best five (5) players means there’s a good chance others are doing the same. Case in point, the current top five is utilized in over 50% of lineups.
Distributors: Darius Garland, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ja Morant, Davion Mitchell, Jayson Tatum
Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: J. Morant (76%), D. Garland (67%), F. VanVleet (60%), J. Tatum (52%), J. Butler (50%)
NBA Playoffs:
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow: 35.0 Rebounds (7.0 REB per player)
After Today (objective frequency; excluding today’s objective):
3x: AST, REB, FGM
2x: STL, FGA, PITP, PTS, 3PM, 3PA
1x: BLK, OREB
Considerations:
Beginning Day 10, how soon a series ends will impact which players are available thereafter
Day 3 has the least number of teams in action (4) between Day 1-9
Day 2, 8, and 9 have the most number of teams in action (8) between Day 1-9
Day 10-16 are guaranteed wins, so it will be a challenge in selecting the five (5) players with the highest accumulation of the specific objective(s)

One win down on our way to seven (7) wins and we almost cracked the top 200. Unlike the regular season, we can’t plan out our entire run well ahead of time as wins and losses will dictate our strategy as we’ll need players for the last few days to ensure we reach the seven win threshold should we falter along the way. Onward to the next attempt at cracking the top 200, so here’s our lineup today.
