NBA Fast Break Classic | Playoffs Round 1 | Day 1

Today’s Objective(s): 35 Field Goals Made

Overview:

After a couple thrilling games in the Play-In Tournament, we now have the NBA Playoff matchups locked in. As a reminder, NBA Playoffs Round 1 are best-of-sevens, which means a season sweep eliminates games on the back-end of this round. That nuance adds a layer of strategy and complexity to Fast Break as it requires you to decide whether to save your players to the later objectives while risking under-utilization of key players.

This series of Fast Break also have different rewards as all you’ll need is seven (7) wins to earn a pack reward. With the final seven days requiring bare minimums (1 of different objectives), it’s more a formality than a hurdle - so long as you complete those seven days, you’re golden (which of course depends on how many games go beyond Game 4). If, however, you are pushing for daily and run-based rewards, it means placement based on serial becomes even more important than it did the past few runs. Keep in mind that moment tier (common, rare, legendary) and serial (the lower the better) will also have a bearing on where you land on the overall rankings.

Also with the playoffs beginning today, be sure to complete the bracket challenge if you have not done so already. This will be based on total number of correct guesses and the top prize is a signed, game worn pair of shoes from Franz Wagner (Top Shot collector) and a gold ball. The top ten will also receive a legendary moment. The goal here is selecting the winners for each round and you have until the first tip to complete your bracket. On that note, let’s dive into today’s objective.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 1 requires five (5) players who will make 35.0 or more field goals, which means each player will need to average at least 7.0 FGM. Today is not only straightforward, but it will set the stage for the rest of the NBA Playoff rounds are your player options will be determined by the duration of each matchup and your remaining collection each day. There are daily, win-based, and run-based rewards, so plan accordingly (at least through Day 10).

  • Bucket Getters: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Cade Cunningham, Luka Doncic, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Edwards

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: G. Antetokounmpo (70%), A. Edwards (58%), J. Brunson (50%), N. Jokic (49%), C. Cunningham (47%)

Tome Collective’s Fast Break NBA Playoffs Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Reaching the 7 wins will be easy considering the last 7 days are single number objectives, so the goal here is to identify dates where we will pick our best lineup to try to earn a daily top 200 reward. The likelihood of doing so on one of the last days is lower as we are at a disadvantage with tiers and serials, so we’ll need to pick our spots in the first nine days of this run. As each series progresses, we need to be mindful of matchups that end sooner than their Game 7 as it will limit our player options.

Here’s our lineup today.
