NBA Fast Break Play-In Tournament | Day 1

Today’s Objective(s): 75 Points Scored

Overview:

Thirteen Fast Break runs took place in the 2024-2025 regular season and prizes (which included dapper, packs, tickets, and a car) were distributed for reaching specific win thresholds, placing overall amongst peers. There were relatively easy runs and there were some that were more than we bargained for. In any event, we now transition our focus to the NBA Play-In Tournament and the NBA Playoffs.

Unlike previous runs, there are only daily rewards (top 50). Although your daily player options will be limited, there should be no challenge in reaching a modest 75 points scored goal. That also means there will be a high number of replicated lineups, so it’ll boil down to seeding to determine who lands in the top 50.

Today’s two games are between the 7th & 8th seed whereas the two games on Wednesday will be between the 9th & 10th seeds for both the Eastern Conference and Western Conferences. The winning team today claims the 7th overall pick and a date with Boston (East) or Houston (West) whereas the losing team has one more chance to win a game which will help them secure the 8th overall seed and a matchup with either Cleveland (East) or Oklahoma City (West). By the end of the Play-In Tournament, there will be four more teams that will join the other ten who have been eliminated from title contention which also shrinks the number of players you can utilize in the first round of the NBA Playoffs (tips off on April 19th). Until then, let’s focus on today and dive into the projections.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 1 requires five (5) players who will score 75.0 or more points , which means each player will need to average at least 15.0 PTS. As there are only rewards for daily winners, you’ll either want to put your best foot forward and hope you selected the top players, or you can mix and match and take your chances for the top spot. Keep in mind there are no run-based rewards, but players you select today could limit you on Day 3.

  • Point Scorers: Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Stephen Curry, Trae Young, Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: S. Curry (88%), P. Banchero (74%), F. Wagner (72%), J. Morant (69%), T. Young (61%)

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow: 10 Three Pointers Made & 25 Three Point Attempts; 4 teams

  • Thursday: 25 Field Goals Made & 40 Field Goal Attempts; 4 teams

Considerations:

  • Winner of each matchup claims the 7th seed

  • Losing team plays the winner of the 9/10 matchup for the 8th seed

NBA Playoffs:

Statistical Approach:

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Play-In Tournament Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

We will have no issues setting lineups for today and tomorrow, which will dictate our options for Friday.
