NBA Fast Break Run 13 | Day 12

Today’s Objective(s): 15 Three Pointers Made & 130 Points Scored

Recap & Overview:

The final two days of this run are no walk in the park. Although every team is in action today, the availability of top players will vary depending on your collection and whether you planned ahead. Today, for instance, requires both players who can score, but also sink the long-range bucket. These two objectives are challenging when it is the single focus, but both required simultaneously will inevitably result in a lot of losses on the day, which about sums up this run.

Of the eleven (11) days thus far, yesterday was the 3rd time we’ve seen a higher than 35% win total. Elfrid Payton had a big hand in that high win percentage as he tallied 15 assists which helped the majority of the 47% who started him earn a win yesterday. With that performance, he earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award. Of the remaining four most utilized players, only Brunson underperformed as he only had five (5) assists. Although not egregious (like Dennis Schroder’s one assist), it was the worst of the bunch, so he is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.

As we inch closer to the finale, the top of the run is lonely as Tunes remains the only perfect score this run. Behind them are eight (8) collectors who are hoping the top spot is vacated so they can move up the list for better run-based rewards. If you have at least nine (9) wins to date, you still have a chance at the 11-win reward. You would need to have at least five (5) wins to reach the 7-win reward. In any event, it is prudent to put forth your best effort each day to move up the overall rankings - especially with a likely volatile final two days of the NBA season.

As a reminder, Tome+ membership grants you access to useful Fast Break resources, Pro Mode articles, and full data sets for Classic. If you’re curious, but don’t want to pay the $4.99 per month or $12.99 for three months, sending any rare moment to TS: TomeCollective will grant you access for three months, which will include the NBA Playoffs and the first two months of the WNBA Season.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 12 requires five (5) players who will make 15.0 or more three pointers and score 130.0 or more points, which means each player will need to average at least 3.0 3PM and 26.0 PTS. The three pointers objective is in itself challenging. 125.0 points scored is also a challenging objective. Now, mix those together and you’ll inevitably have a low win percentage on the day. But a win will set you apart from the rest and play a meaningful role in you moving up in the overall standings.

  • Little of Both: Luka Doncic, Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards

  • Outside Snipers: Stephen Curry, Zach LaVine, Malik Beasley, Anthony Edwards, Quentin Grimes, Coby White, Luka Doncic

  • Point Scorers: Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cade Cunningham, Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: A. Edwards (76%), S. Curry (40%), M. Beasley (36%), D. Booker (30%), L. Doncic (28%)

  • Pro Mode Limitations: Metallic Gold Rare

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow: 40 Field Goals Made & 55 Field Goal Attempts are the pseudo double objective; all 30 teams in action

Considerations:

  • All thirty (30) teams have two (2) games remaining

  • All teams who played yesterday are playing the tail-end of a back-to-back

  • 1 of 2 days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)

  • Pro mode has a different limitation each day; it also has different objectives compared to Classic

NBA Playoff Picture:

Eastern Conference: Zero change top to bottom. Going into the final two games per team, though, Indiana could leapfrog New York as they are only behind by one game. Seeds 8-10 are within two games of each also.

Western Conference: With Memphis’s loss, they drop to 7th and Golden State moves up to 6th. Seeds 3-8 are still within two games of each other, so the final two games should be filled with starters to avoid the Play-In Tournament.

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected three pointers made & point scored according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Payton delivered a masterful 15 assists yesterday, but thanks to Schroder who could only muster one assist and we fell short by one assist. Thankfully we earned the 7-win reward already, but we’re falling down the overall rankings. Two days remaining for us to move up the standings instead of falling down the list.
