NBA Fast Break Run 12 | Day 8
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 15 Three Pointers Made & 25 Three Point Attempts to earn your win.
Recap & Overview:
Yesterday required points in the paint and blocks. If you needed points in the paint, Giannis was your guy with his 22 PIP. If you needed blocks, Myles Turner delivered 4. However, if you need a bit of both, Jakob Poeltl chipped in 16 PIP & 3 BLK. For different reasons, each had merit to earn the Fast Break Stud of the Day. Including the other two of the top five players utilized (Barnes & Claxton), each contributed in their own expected way. As has been the case for the majority of this run, there were no Duds as these five led the way for the 54% of Fast Breakers who earned a win yesterday, but is much lower than we saw in the early days of this run. If you did not have (at least) one of the twelve (12) players who had two or more blocks, chances are you came up one point shy of earning a win (affectionately referred to as being Tandy’d, coined after @Tandyman0, a prominent NBA Top Shot streamer).
With yesterday’s result, we are down to 578 Fast Breakers who remain perfect - down from 875 on the previous day. With six (6) days remaining in this run, we’ve officially passed the midway point of this series. As the season is quickly coming to an end, we have one more regular season run of Fast Break before we shift into playoff mode. If you were playing Fast Break last year, you’ll have a sense of what to expect - variance based on how far each team progresses in their matchups. Sweeps are crippling to Fast Break options whereas series that span the full term stretch collections to the brink. Regardless of the makeup of your collection, it should be an exciting, eventful NBA Playoffs - especially with the caliber of teams who will stake their claim on the championship.
Until then, there are nineteen (19) Fast Break days remaining in the 2024-2025 regular NBA Season. Let’s dive into today’s objective and earn yourself another win.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 8 requires five (5) players who will make 15.0 and attempt 25.0 or more three pointers, which means your lineup will need to average 3.0 3PM & 5.0 3PA per player. The former is the objective that will determine whether you win or lose, but the latter will determine where you rank amongst the participants. Steph Curry is in Miami with the team and practiced, but is questionable to play today. If he does, he’s still an iffy choice considering he sustained a back injury. Should he play to his standard, he’ll be one of the most utilized players today. If not, there are only a handful of players who can reliably sink 3 or more three pointers. No matter who you include in your lineup, anticipate a volatile day where the difference between winning and losing will come down to the last player in your lineup.
Outside Snipers: Steph Curry (if active), Malik Beasley, LaMelo Ball, Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet
Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: M. Beasley (78%), T. Herro (77%), A. Simons (59%), K. Thompson (47%), D. Mitchell (46%)
Pro Mode Limitations: Throwdown (Rare)
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow: 30 PIP & 5 OREB will be the two objectives; 12 teams in action
Objectives frequency (after today): PTS, FGM, FGA, REB, PIP, BLK, AST, OREB
Considerations:
Boston, Chicago, Denver, Minnesota, & New Orleans have the least number of games remaining (2)
Cleveland, New York, & San Antonio have the most number of games remaining (4)
Dallas, Orlando, & Sacramento are playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today
Denver & Utah last game this run lands on Day 11
4 of 6 days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)
Pro mode has a different limitation each day; it also has different objectives compared to Classic
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected three pointers made & three point attempts according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
We earned our 6th win which means we are one win from our primary objective. Swapping in Anthony Davis for PJ Washington almost ended poorly, but thankfully Poeltl covered the majority of today’s block requirement. In order to reach our stretch goal, we’ll need five wins over the next six days. But first, our 7th win today.
