NBA Fast Break Run 11 | Day 9

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 40 Field Goals Made to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

There were 18 teams in action yesterday and there were over 30 players launched more than seven three pointers. There were also over 30 players who made at least 3 three pointers. Yet, three of the top five most utilized players could only muster two (2) three pointers made. Klay Thompson, Anfernee Simons, and Tyler Herro - please take a bow. You are the Fast Break co-Duds of the Day. On the other hand, Derrick White was utilized in 39% of lineups and made as many three pointers as the Duds did combined, earning the Fast Break Stud of the Day Award. Honorable mention goes to Luke Kennard who made seven (7) three pointers and Al Horford who made six (6) three pointers - the fifth time he’s done so in his career.

Although there were some facepalm worthy performances yesterday, 50% of Fast Breakers found their way to a win including the majority (183) of the perfect records. Today’s objective will likely reduce that number more than it has the past two days considering the limited lineups and likely limited usage of key players like Giannis who is averaging 12.2 FGM per game this year (career high). Only Joker and SGA have a higher FGM per game this season, but neither are in action today. So, who’s the next best options? Let’s dive into today’s single objective.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 9 requires five (5) players who will make 40.0 or more field goals, which means your lineup will need to average 8.0 FGM per player. Based on how these days typically go, you not only need players who are the first or second option (or someone who is on fire), but you also need to avoid players who build houses with bricks. The latter is more challenging than it sounds, but hopefully you find success today.

  • Walking Buckets: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, Cade Cunningham, Zach LaVine, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, Stephen Curry

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: Z. Williamson (61%), G. Antetokounmpo (54%), D. DeRozan (54%), Z. LaVine (50%), F. Wagner (42%)

  • Pro Mode Limitations: N/A

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow: 5 OREB & 35 PIP will be the two objectives; 20 teams in action

  • Objectives frequency (after today):

    • 2x: PIP

    • 1x: OREB, FGA, BLK, STL, AST, FGM

Considerations:

  • Nine (9) teams have the least number of games remaining (2)

  • LA Lakers has the most number of games remaining (4)

  • No teams are playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today

  • Day 10 (tomorrow) & 13 have the most teams in action (20+), so your lineup options will be the most expansive

  • Boston’s last game this run lands on Day 11

  • 2 of the remaining 5 days will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)

  • Pro mode has additional limitations on Day 10 (Metallic Gold Rare) & Day 13 (For the Win Rare)

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected field goals made according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 11 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

We swapped in Jayson Tatum for LaMelo and considered swapping DiVincenzo for White, but decided against it…and that turned out to be a good decision. That change would have led to a win, unfortunately. Primary goal is only one win away, but we’d need to win out for the 11-win reward.
