NBA Fast Break Run 10 | Day 9

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 40 Rebounds to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

Yesterday was another rough one as only 9% of participants walked away unscathed. That’s the 5th of 8 days where less than 50% earned a win and 2nd of 8 days where there were less than 10%. From that chaos, we are officially down to our last perfect record and they’ll need to win the next five days to secure the top prize. Should they falter, there are 30 Fast Breakers sitting with a single loss and are ready to jump to the front of the line. If this run is any indication, anticipate a volatile finish to this run. Good luck to those who are still within striking distance.

With Jaylen Brown scratched from the lineup, no player was used in over 50% of lineups, which is a rarity. The highest utilized was Jalen Brunson at 45% followed by RJ Barrett - the latter of which only had the least number of field goals made at five (5) and earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day award. Of the five most heavily utilized players, none reached double digits. Across the entire NBA, only nine (9) players did - T. Maxey, M. Bridges, T. Haliburton, J. Tatum, M. Beasley, A. Wiggins, W. Kessler, A. Thompson, & S. Sharpe who had the dunk of the night.

Next up, we have rebounds. Although straightforward, there’s no room to get complacent. Adjust your lineup as needed and put forth your best effort. Let’s dive into it.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 9 requires five (5) players who will accumulate 40.0 or more rebounds, which means your lineup will need to average 8.0 REB per player. A single objective doesn’t mean it’ll be any easier - especially since there are only 10 teams in action today. Rebounds come in bunches, especially for those who lurk around the rim. Joker & Giannis are the top tier options today so long as they are in action.

  • Glass Crashers: Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Naz Reid

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: N. Jokic (61%), G. Antetokounmpo (45%), N. Richards (45%), B. Portis (36%), J. Nurkic (36%)

  • Pro Mode: N/A

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow, 125 points scored will be the single objective; 20 teams in action

  • Objectives frequency (after today): OREB, BLK, PIP, PTS, 3PM, STL, FGM

Considerations:

  • Boston, Sacramento, & Washington have the least number of games remaining (2)

  • Golden State, LA Lakers, Minnesota, New Orleans, & Phoenix have the most number of games remaining (4)

  • No teams are playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today

  • Day 10 (tomorrow) have the most teams in action (20), so your lineup options will be more expansive

  • Boston & Denver’s last game this run lands on Day 12

  • Three of the remaining six days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)

  • Assists minus turnovers & +/- are not included as objectives for Run 10

  • Pro mode has additional limitations on Day 10 (TSD badge), Day 12 (Rookie year badge), & Day 14 (Throwdowns)

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected rebounds according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 10 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

As expected, we came up short on Day 8 and are now outside the top 200. With two losses, we have one more mulligan in order to achieve our stretch goal of 11-wins. That means we’ll need to win 4 of the remaining 5 days and it’ll be a battle to the end. There will inevitably be adjustments over the next five days, so fingers crossed we make it.
