NBA Fast Break Run 10 | Day 8
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 45 Field Goals Made & 55 Field Goal Attempts to earn your win.
Recap & Overview:
We have officially reached the midway point of Run 10 and embark on the second half of this series. With the next seven days, anticipate more of what you saw so far as there is a mix of challenging days where you’ll need top tier players, days where you’ll need a blend of players, and some where you’ll need a single specialist. Before we dive into today’s objective, let’s recap yesterday’s outcome.
Day 7 was a positive one for many participants as 67% of Fast Breakers earned a win. Most of those wins can be attributed to De’Aaron Fox who singlehandedly accumulated nine (9) assists and six (6) steals which was the more challenging of the two objectives yesterday. Alternatively, Luka Magic showed out against his former team and logged a triple-double including 12 assists and 3 steals. Arguably, both were invaluable for Fast Break lineups, but the edge goes to Luka for Fast Break Stud of the Day. Plus, did you see his assist to Reaves? Luka Magic.
On the other hand, Dame Lillard was rostered in 49% of lineups, but he could only contribute 3 assists and 1 steal - not the kind of day you’d want from one of your superstars. Compared to the other most heavily utilized players, he had the worst performance and earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day award. Although the majority earned a win yesterday, four of the final 13 perfect records fell off the pace so only 9 perfect records remain. Today’s objective is straightforward, but it will likely be one that will result in less than 50% winners and the volume of perfection will likely shrink by tomorrow’s article. Follow your gut, hope for the best, and fingers crossed you’re on the right side of the results. Let’s jump into today’s projections.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 8 requires five (5) players who will make 45.0 or more field goals made & take 55.0 or more field goal attempts, which means your lineup will need to average 9.0 FGM & 11.0 FGA per player. The latter is more a formality, so your focus is on the former. 45.0 is not a low threshold, so you’ll need players who can make buckets - a lot of them. One significant underperformance could sink your day though (the failure of Tyler Herro & Trae Young on Day 7 still stings for many). If you have SGA, Cade, or KAT available (if they’re playing), today’s the day to use them.
Bucket Getters: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cade Cunningham, Karl-Anthony Towns
Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: J. Brown (66%), D. DeRozan (42%), R. Barrett (40%), J. Brunson (38%), SGA (36%)
Pro Mode: Rookie year badge
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow, 40 rebounds will be the single objective; only 10 teams in action
Objectives frequency (after today): OREB, REB, BLK, PIP, PTS, 3PM, STL, FGM
Considerations:
Ten (10) teams have the least number of games remaining (3)
Twenty (20) teams have the most number of games remaining (4)
Boston, Houston, San Antonio, & Toronto is playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today
Day 9 (tomorrow) only has 10 teams in action, so your lineup options will be more limited
Day 10 have the most teams in action (20), so your lineup options will be more expansive
Boston & Denver’s last game this run lands on Day 12
Four of the remaining seven days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)
Assists minus turnovers & +/- are not included as objectives for Run 10
Pro mode has additional limitations on Day 10 (TSD badge), Day 12 (Rookie year badge), & Day 14 (Throwdowns)
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected field goals made & field goal attempts according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 10 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Barely squeaked by with only a single assist to spare. But! A win is a win and we are up to 106th overall. The Kia is out of reach, but the 11 win and $25+ reward are still in play. Day 8 is looking like a loss by all accounts, so that means we have 5 wins in 6 days to reach the stretch goal.
