NBA Fast Break Run 9 | Day 6

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 15 Three Pointers Made and 25 Three Point Attempts to earn your win.

Overview:

We are a little over 24 hours from the upcoming NBA trade deadline (Thursday, February 6th @ 3:00PM ET) and there continue to be rumblings of more trade activity. None, however, will match the magnitude of the Mavericks-Lakers, but there will likely be downstream impacts for Fast Break - for this series and for the remainder of the season.

Until confirmation of another trade is announced where we will need to adjust our lineups for the remainder of this series, we will press on with our regularly scheduled program. Yesterday, both assists and steals were needed and there were varying degrees of success in the top five most utilized players. On one end, you had LeBron who contributed 9 assists and 3 steals to earn the Fast Break Stud of the Day. James Harden did well also but he had one less steal than LBJ. Darius Garland, however, did not garner favor with the 45% of Fast Breakers who had him in their lineup as he only managed 3 assists and 2 steals - ahead of the pace with steals but well behind the pace for assists. Considering 69% of lineups earned a win yesterday, many survived Garland’s dud of a performance.

As today is Day 6 out of 14, we are not yet at the midway point of Run 9, but we are approaching the midway point of the 2024-2025 NBA Season. Interestingly enough, the floor on legendary moments have risen above $100 whereas a couple weeks ago you could find some around $85. Similarly, WNBA moments are gaining momentum ahead of the upcoming season which tips off on May 16th, 2025. If you plan on participating in WNBA Fast Break, pay attention to offseason trades and signings as they’ll have implications for the upcoming season. Note that with less teams and top-tier players, having rares of key stars will support your success throughout the WNBA season. Jot down some wish list stars and keep an eye on flowty.io and the Top Shot marketplace for good deals or lob some offers. While you wait, let’s dive into today’s projections.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 6 requires five (5) players who will make 15.0 or more three pointers and take 25.0 three point attempts, which means your lineup will need to average 3.0 3PM and 5.0 3PA per player. Although there are technically two objectives today, the latter is more a formality than hindrance to the day as players need to take shots to make them. The challenge will be having a lineup where you avoid players with off nights.

  • Three Point Snipers: Malik Beasley, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Maxey, Trey Murphy, Stephen Curry, Donovan Mitchell, Tyler Herro, Jordan Poole, Damian Lillard

  • Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: S. Curry (84%), T. Herro (78%), D. Mitchell (58%), J. Poole (47%), M. Beasley (47%)

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow, 30 +/- will be the single objective; 12 teams in action

  • Objectives frequency (after today):

    • 2x: FGM

    • 1x: +/-, OREB, AST-TO, FGA, BLK, PIP, REB, PTS, AST, STL, 3PM, 3PA

Considerations:

  • New York has the least games remaining this run (3)

  • Golden State, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, Sacramento, and Utah teams have the most games remaining this run (6)

  • Brooklyn, Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, Philadelphia, and Toronto are playing the tail-end of back-to-back games

  • Day 10 & 12 only have 6 & 8 teams in action, respectively so your lineup options will be more limited

  • Day 7 only have two (2) teams in action, so plan around this date to avoid being stuck without options

  • Day 6, 9, 11, & 13 have 20 or more teams in action (Day 13 has all 30 teams in action)

  • Half the days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)

  • Assists minus turnovers makes a return on Day 10

  • The always volatile +/- lands on Day 7 with a slighter higher threshold (30 vs. 25)

Statistical Approach:

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 9 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Win #4 secured where our lineup lived up to expectations from top to bottom. Next up is Day 6 where we have another strong lineup filled with three point shooters. The hope is they make at least two apiece with a few doing more than their fair share.
