NBA Fast Break Run 9 | Day 4
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 125 Points Scored to earn your win.
Overview:
The news of the day is the confirmation of another blockbuster trade - this time involving the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Chicago Bulls. Unlike the Mavericks & LA Lakers, San Antonio & Sacramento have differing schedules for the remainder of this run which will directly impact Fast Break lineups. For instance, we had De’Aaron Fox playing on Day 14 - that’s no longer an option and we’ll need to determine when we can slot Fox back into our lineup. Note that although San Antonio is in action today, Fox won’t be ready to play just yet.
As for yesterday, there was a collective sigh of relief by Fast Breakers as there was a high number of winners with 86% of participants earning a win. Part of that success can be attributed to Ivica Zubac as he was utilized in 73% of lineups and delivered 14 points in the paint along with 8 rebounds which covered a significant portion of yesterday’s objectives. For his outperformance, he earned the coveted Fast Break Stud of the Day award. Considering the other four highly utilized players lived up to expectations, there are no duds on the day.
If you have set your lineups in advance, be sure to modify them as soon as you are able to adjust for the players impacted by trades. For now, this includes Luka Doncic, De’Aaron Fox, and Zach LaVine. There are others who were directly affected, but these three have the highest probability of being included in at least one upcoming lineup. Without further ado, let’s get into today’s single objective.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 4 requires five (5) players who will score 125.0 or more points, which means your lineup will need to average 25.0 PTS per player. Single objectives are straightforward, but this one isn’t a gimme as there is volatility in scoring and one underperformance can drag your entire lineup down. Use the data below to maximize your lineup and hopefully they all show up to score a lot of points.
Scorer Mentality: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, Cade Cunningham, Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant
Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: SGA (73%), J. Brunson (60%), L. Ball (46%), D. Booker (45%), N. Jokic (45%)
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow, 30 assists & 5 steals will be the two objectives; 14 teams in action
Objectives frequency (after today):
2x: 3PM, 3PA, AST, FGM, STL
1x: +/-, OREB, AST-TO, FGA, BLK, PIP, REB, PTS
Considerations:
Nine (9) teams have the least games remaining this run (5)
Seven (7) teams have the most games remaining this run (7)
Detroit & Milwaukee are playing the tail-end of back-to-back games
Day 10 & 12 only have 6 & 8 teams in action, respectively so your lineup options will be more limited
Day 7 only have two (2) teams in action, so plan around this date to avoid being stuck without options
Day 6, 9, 11, & 13 have 20 or more teams in action (Day 13 has all 30 teams in action)
Half the days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)
Assists minus turnovers makes a return on Day 10
The always volatile +/- lands on Day 7 with a slighter higher threshold (30 vs. 25)
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected points scored according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 9 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Back on track with a win on Day 3. We’ll need to adjust Day 14 now that De’Aaron Fox is no longer playing for Sacramento. We didn’t have LaVine in any lineups, but that may change depending on how things go with the Kings. Points Scored is always touch and go considering one underperforming player could sink the entire lineup. Trae is currently listed on the injury report, so we’ll need to keep an eye on his status also.
