NBA Fast Break Run 4 | Day 1

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 125 Points Scored to earn your win.

Overview:

After a highly successful Run 3 for the majority, we embark on NBA Fast Break Run 4 where the rewards have expanded and so has the difficulty. There is now a fourth tier of rewards IF you have a perfect run. The first two reward pack tiers remain the same and includes Grail Seeker packs and the third tier has your standard Fast Break 9-win reward. In addition, there are now twice as many daily winners as the top 100 earn a pack. On top of that, the top 500 overall earn a spendable reward but the top overall will receive two tickets to an NBA game in Paris, France taking place in late January, 2025. This includes airfare and accommodations, which follows the trend of the past few runs and their top reward.

There is one less games this run, which means you have one less game of flexibility to earn that 9th win, but it also means you have five less player slots to balance for the entirety of the run. Day 1 requires 125 points instead of 130 points, but there aren’t as many heavy hitter scorers as we typically see (including many who are injured like LaMelo Ball). But it also opens the door for Brandon Miller to have a big game ($19 low ask rare). Additionally, DeMar DeRozan is out with an injury so De’Aaron Fox will look to have a big game ($15 low ask rare).

In every run this season, we have crested 8,000 participants so you have good odds of reaching the top 500, but consistency and wins are key. This means your planning ahead will likely be the difference between you reaching the next tier of rewards and possibly ranking in the top 500. Check back with Tome Collective each day as we deliver daily insight, projections, and what to consider going forward for the remainder of the run. With that said, let’s dive into today’s objective.

Note: We will be rebranding from ‘Tome Society’ to ‘Tome Collective’ by December 1st, 2024 based on an adjustment in the creative direction of this brand. We have already updated our Dapper and social handle ahead of the change, but you will begin to notice updates throughout.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 1 requires five (5) players who score 125 or more Points Scored, which means your lineup will need to average 25.0 PTS per player. Considering the first day gives you plenty of flexibility, you have the opportunity to use anyone in your collection for your lineup today. It would be prudent for you to plan ahead. There are multiple resources available to you including Own The Moment’s planner and our very own Fast Break resources (Witty’s Cheat Sheet, Witty’s Player Targets, etc.) and your own due diligence.

Since today is one of three days with a single objective, it is straightforward. There are days ahead where the objectives will be divergent and will deliver a more challenging experience than Run 3. Regardless, let’s start Run 4 off on the right foot.

  • Bucket Getters: Brandon Miller, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Davis, Franz Wagner, Anthony Edwards, De'Aaron Fox

  • Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: S. Gilgeous-Alexander (68%), L. Ball (61%), A. Edwards (58%), J. Tatum (57%), D. Fox (50%)

Upcoming Objective(s):

  • Fast Break Run 4 will span 11 days and will have expanded rewards. Anyone who reaches 3, 6, 9, and 11 (perfect) earns packs. Top 500 (up from 200) earns run-based rewards. Top 100 (up from 50) daily earns a pack.

  • Tomorrow, 30 rebounds & 35 points in the paint will be the two (2) objectives and there are only ten (10) teams in action

  • Remaining objectives after today:

    • 3x: REB, AST

    • 2x: 3PM, BLK, FGM

    • 1x: PIP, FGA, STL, +/-, OREB, PTS

Considerations:

  • No team is playing the tail end of a back-to-back today considering the holiday

  • Day 4 has eight (8) teams in action

  • Day 6 has the extra elusive Plus/Minus objective

  • Day 8 will be one of the most challenging days this run as it requires OREB & 3PM

  • Day 11 has only two (2) teams in action

  • Houston has the least number of games this run (4)

  • There are thirteen (13) teams playing six (6) games this run

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected Points Scored according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Rewards:

  • Daily Reward: Top 100 each day will receive a Fast Break Rookie Debut pack

  • Milestone Reward: Reach 3, 6, or 9 wins and each tier earns you a pack

    • 3 wins: One (1) Grail Seeker pack

    • 6 wins: Three (3) Grail Seeker packs

    • 9 wins: Fast Break pack

    • 11 wins: Perfect Fast Break pack

  • Run Reward: Place in the top 500 overall

    • Rank 1: Two (2) tickets to the NBA game in Paris, France including airfare and hotel

    • Rank 2-500: Spendable credit at varying values

Additional Resources:

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

New run, new challenge. Run 3 was easier than the previous iterations, so nine wins is aspirational. We are back to the original goal of six (6) wins using each player no more than once.
