NBA Fast Break Run 7 | Day 5

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 15 Three Pointers Made and 25 Three Point Attempts to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

Day 4 felt like a Block party with 69% of participants earning a win thanks to some big games by multiple players. There were six (6) players who had three (3) blocks (Lively, Durant, Bitadze, Duren, Green, & Gafford) and Jaren Jackson had six (6) by himself (along with his 16 points in the paint). As JJJ was used in 42% of lineups, he is your Fast Break Stud of the Day. Evan Mobley, on the other hand, was present in 69% of lineups, but only provided 8 points in the paint (and no blocks), so he’s your Fast Break Dud of the Day. Fortunately with so many 3-block performances, you likely weren’t burned by Mobley’s lackluster day in the two needed objectives.

Although there are two objectives today, you are likely focusing solely on the three pointers made side of the equation. We are on Day 5 of Fast Break Run 7 and there are about 7,700 total participants - many of whom are perfect through the first four days of this series. Let’s 1) keep the momentum going today and 2) dive into the projections and data.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 5 requires five (5) players who will make 15.0 or more three pointers and attempt 25.0 or more three pointers, which means your lineup will need to average 3.0 3PM & 5.0 3PA per player. Although there are two objectives today, it is more like one as players need to attempt three pointers in order to make three pointers. Unless your lineup collectively shoots beyond a 60%+ make rate, the 3PA will be a formality. Steph Curry is unsurprisingly utilized in 4 of 5 lineups, but he hasn’t always come through every time three pointers are needed in Fast Break; yet, it is difficult to proactively exclude him given today’s objective.

  • Deep Threats: Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole, Jayson Tatum, CJ McCollum

  • Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: S. Curry (82%), J. Tatum (64%), D. Lillard (57%), C. McCollum (46%), Coby White (43%)

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow, 125 points scored is the single objective; there are 14 teams in action

  • Objectives Breakdown (after today):

    • 2x: PTS, REB, AST, 3PM

    • 1x: OREB, FGA, FGM, STL, PIP, BLK, 3PA

Considerations:

  • Ten (10) teams have the least number of games remaining (4)

  • Six (6) teams have the most number of games remaining (6)

  • Golden State and Orlando are playing the tail end of a back-to-back

  • After today, 3 of the 9 remaining days have a single objective & 6 of 9 have two objectives

  • Charlotte, Dallas, Memphis, New Orleans, New York, Toronto, and Utah’s last game this run is on Day 12

  • Day 11 has the least number of teams in action (10)

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected three pointers made & three point attempts according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 7 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Smooth sailing on Day 4, which brings us a win away from the first Grail Seeker pack. Day 5 will be straightforward so long as our deep threats do their thing. With Cam Johnson unlikely to play, we subbed in Coby White.
