NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 2 | Day 9

Buzzer Beaters, Breakouts, and a 140-Point Overtime Thriller

NBA Recap: November 10, 2025

Desmond Bane stole the spotlight in Orlando, drilling a 27-foot buzzer-beater to lift the Magic past Portland 115–112. Paolo Banchero led the charge with 28 points and 9 rebounds, while Bane added 22 points and 7 assists—including the game-winner after Banchero’s clutch steal with 1.9 seconds left. Shaedon Sharpe dropped 31 for the Blazers, but Portland’s late rally was undone in dramatic fashion.

In Miami, the Heat outlasted Cleveland 140–138 in overtime, flipping the script on win probabilities and showcasing elite shot-making under pressure. The Timberwolves continued their dominant stretch, beating Utah 120–113 behind another balanced offensive effort. Phoenix rolled past New Orleans 121–98, while San Antonio edged Chicago 121–117 with Wembanyama anchoring both ends, including a big three pointer that tied the game with a minute to play. About 30 seconds later, he would drill another long three pointer to give the Spurs the lead late in a game where they trailed throughout.

Elsewhere, Milwaukee escaped Dallas 116–114 despite a late Mavericks push, and Atlanta held off the Clippers 105–102 in a gritty road win.

NBA Fast Break Results: Day 8

Over 73% of Fast Breakers earned a win yesterday as points in the paint and offensive rebounds were needed. Of the top five, Giannis was the most utilized player and he delivered a 20 point, 6 offensive rebound stat line, which earned him the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.

Due to a lack of specific information for yesterday, we weren’t able to identify low performers out of the top five. If you had a poor performer, then that player is your Fast Break Dud of the Day. Otherwise, let’s dive into today’s objective below.

Today’s Fast Break Objective(s): Day 9 of 14

Objective(s): 40 Assists (8.0 AST)

You’ll need five (5) players who will accumulate 40 or more assists, which means each player will need to average 8.0 AST. The single objective isn’t daunting to achieve, but it will require the usage of top distributors. For someone like Joker, the challenge will be based on whether you want to save him for another day as Denver has two more games this run after today.

Top Player Options:

  • Distributors: Nikola Jokic, Tyrese Maxey, Ja Morant

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: J. Morant (85%) | D. Schroder (62%) | K. George (49%) | N. Jokic (45%) | I. Quickley (37%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Objectives remaining (after today): AST-TO, STL, FGM, FGA, PTS, REB, BLK

  • Tomorrow’s Objective(s): 140 Points Scored (28.0 PTS)

Considerations:

  • Golden State & Sacramento have the most remaining games (4)

  • Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, & Washington have the fewest remaining games (2)

  • Day 11 & 13 has 10 or less teams in action, so lineup options are more limited

  • Day 10 (tomorrow) has 20 or more teams in action, so there is more flexibility with your lineup options

  • The always volatile & challenging AST-TO takes place on Day 13

Statistical Approach:

Top players in assists according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 average, and season averages, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ members, all active player stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Witty’s Fast Break Challenge:

In NBA Fast Break, how often you can use a player depends on the value of their moments—measured by average sale price. That system can put newer and/or smaller collectors at a disadvantage, limiting their ability to compete. This segment is designed to level the playing field, giving resourceful collectors a shot at rewards and proving that smart strategy can still win, even without a stacked collection.
