NBA Fast Break Classic | Run 9 | Day 2
Detroit Holds Off Denver, OKC Rolls, Knicks Cruise, Suns Find a Way
NBA Recap: February 3, 2026
Nuggets 121, Pistons 124
Detroit edged Denver in one of the night’s most competitive games, powered by Cade Cunningham’s 29 points and Jalen Duren’s 13 rebounds. Jamal Murray kept the Nuggets in it with a game‑high 32 points, while Nikola Jokić added a massive 15‑rebound effort. The Pistons won the free‑throw battle (37‑of‑43) and matched Denver on the glass (43–43), and despite the Nuggets’ late 41‑point fourth quarter, Detroit’s early cushion and clutch trips to the line sealed the win.
Jazz 131, Pacers 122
Utah, down to just seven healthy players, rode a historic night from rookie Isaiah Collier — 22 assists, the most by any NBA player this season and the most by a Jazz player since John Stockton in 1992. Lauri Markkanen added 27 points, and Kyle Filipowski pulled down 16 rebounds as Utah controlled the paint and tempo to capture a rare win on the road.
Bulls 115, Bucks 131
Chicago had an active day on the trade block and it translated into uneasiness on the court as they sent away key players on their roster. Milwaukee took advantage and handled business with a performance that felt steady and inevitable. Kyle Kuzma powered Milwaukee with 31 points and 10 rebounds, matching his season high and stabilizing a Bucks team missing multiple starters. Chicago’s Matas Buzelis led the Bulls with 22 points, but Milwaukee’s 23 made threes and +8 rebounding edge proved decisive.
Knicks 132, Wizards 101
New York dominated wire-to-wire, overwhelming Washington with physicality, pace, and clean offensive execution. The Knicks rolled to their seventh straight win behind 23 points from Mikal Bridges, 19 points and 14 rebounds from Karl‑Anthony Towns, and a blistering 34 team assists. Washington’s Will Riley posted 17 points, but New York led by as many as 41 and never trailed.
Lakers 125, Nets 109
The Lakers looked composed and connected, mixing disciplined defense with balanced scoring. LeBron James delivered a vintage line — 25 points on 10‑of‑16 shooting, plus 7 assists — while Luka Dončić added 24 points as the Lakers controlled the game wire‑to‑wire. Brooklyn’s Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 21 points, but L.A.’s 45‑point first quarter set the tone.
Hawks 127, Heat 115
Atlanta dictated the rhythm from the jump, pushing pace and forcing Miami to play faster than it wanted. Jalen Johnson authored one of the night’s best performances: 29 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists for his ninth triple‑double of the season. CJ McCollum added 26 points on 10‑of‑18 shooting, including 6‑of‑9 from deep off the bench. Miami’s Jaime Jaquez Jr. led the Heat with 21 points, but Atlanta’s pace and shot‑making overwhelmed them.
Celtics 110, Mavericks 100
Boston leaned on its defense to steer the game, turning stops into steady, methodical offense. Jaylen Brown dominated with 33 points and 11 rebounds, carrying a Celtics team still adjusting after trade‑deadline moves. Dallas rookie Cooper Flagg continued his historic run with 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, becoming the first teenager with three straight 30‑point games. Boston’s defensive pressure in the third quarter swung the game.
Magic 92, Thunder 128
Oklahoma City delivered one of the night’s most emphatic performances, overwhelming Orlando with energy, pace, and relentless defense. Isaiah Hartenstein recorded his first career triple‑double — 12 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists — while Isaiah Joe added 22 points as OKC became the first team this season to reach 40 wins. Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander chipped in 20 points and 9 assists, and the Thunder dominated the glass 52–38.
76ers 113, Warriors 94
Philadelphia imposed its will with physical defense and patient offense. Golden State struggled to generate rhythm, and the Sixers capitalized on every lull. Rookie VJ Edgecombe starred with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Andre Drummond added a bruising 12‑point, 11‑rebound double‑double. Philadelphia controlled the boards 56–33 and held Golden State to just 16 third‑quarter points, extending the Sixers’ win streak to five.
Suns 130, Trail Blazers 125
Phoenix continues to be without Devin Booker, but have relied on Dillon Brooks as of late. Although Brooks had a less-than-stellar shooting day, the Suns saw production from others. Collin Gillespie erupted for 30 points, hitting 8 threes and dishing 10 assists in a breakout performance. Mark Williams anchored the interior with 12 rebounds, while Portland’s Donovan Clingan countered with 15 boards of his own. Despite Jerami Grant’s 23 points, Phoenix’s shot‑making in the final minutes sealed it.
Fast Break Recap: Day 1
Day was split the difference as 130 points were needed in Classic. Jaylen Brown was utilized in 83% of lineups and he delivered — especially if you him as your captain. With his 33 points (50 as a captain), he more than earned the Fast Break Stud of the Day award.
Tyrese Maxey, on the other hand, only scored 14 points, which was the worst of the top five. With his meager showing, he earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day for 72% of lineups who included him.
