WNBA Fast Break Classic | 2025 Playoffs | Day 8
Today’s Objective(s): 3 Steals & 3 Blocks
Overview:
Las Vegas thwarted catastrophe as they evened the series with Indiana while Phoenix showed their mettle against the top seeded Lynx. Now both series are tied heading to Indiana and Phoenix respectively for the next two games. The winner of the pivotal Game 3 will have the upper hand for the next game, which will take place on September 28th. Minnesota and Las Vegas continue to be the favorites, but Indiana and Phoenix won’t go quietly.
WNBA Recap: September 23rd
Aces Lock In, Even Series with Fever in Game 2 Blowout (LVA 90, IND 68)
Las Vegas responded with force, cruising past Indiana 90–68 to tie the semifinal series 1–1. A’ja Wilson led the way with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 blocks, while Chelsea Gray dished out 10 assists. The Aces built an 11-point halftime lead and widened the gap with a 24–17 third quarter, holding the Fever to 41% shooting and just 4 fast-break points. Lexie Hull hit five threes for Indiana, but Vegas’s defense and ball movement overwhelmed a Fever squad still missing key contributors.
Mercury Rally from 20 Down, Stun Lynx in OT Thriller (PHO 89, MIN 83)
Phoenix erased a 20-point deficit to beat Minnesota 89–83 in overtime, tying the series 1–1 in dramatic fashion. Satou Sabally dropped a game-high 24 points and hit five threes, Alyssa Thomas added 19 points and 13 assists, and Natasha Mack chipped in 12 off the bench. Sami Whitcomb’s clutch three with 4.3 seconds left in regulation forced OT, and Phoenix never trailed again. Napheesa Collier led the Lynx with 24 points, but Minnesota’s late-game breakdowns proved costly.
Fast Break Results: Day 7
77% of Fast Break participants earned a win, which is the seventh day in a row where more than 60% of collectors earned a win. There are at least six more days remaining in this run (including today) and at most 10 more days (if at least one series goes the distance). Inevitably, this win streak will end and the run-based rewards will be about who can last the longest, which likely means who has the most legendary moments of players who reach the WNBA Finals.
NaLyssa Smith was the top performer as she was utilized by 66% of collectors and delivered 14 points in the paint along with two offensive rebounds. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day award. On the other hand, Jessica Shepard was utilized in 53% of lineups and could only muster 3 total points along with 2 offensive rebounds. With her poor performance, she earned the Fast Break Dud of the Day.
WNBA Playoff Semifinals: Best of Five Series
Indiana Fever @ Las Vegas Aces | 7:30PM ET | 11:30PM UTC (Series Tied 1-1)
The Las Vegas Aces return to Michelob Ultra Arena for Game 3 against the Indiana Fever, with the series knotted and momentum up for grabs. A’ja Wilson, already crowned MVP for the fourth time, will look to dominate the interior and set the tone early, while Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young must elevate the perimeter attack to stretch Indiana’s defense. The Fever, powered by Aliyah Boston’s paint presence and Kelsey Mitchell’s shot creation, have shown they can dictate pace and disrupt Vegas’s rhythm. Expect a tactical battle in the halfcourt, with both teams leaning into their stars and searching for separation in a tightly contested series.
Phoenix Mercury @ Minnesota Lynx | 9:30PM ET | 1:30AM UTC (Series Tied 1-1)
In Phoenix, the Mercury host the Minnesota Lynx for Game 3 of a series defined by star power and strategic swings. Napheesa Collier, an MVP finalist, leads Minnesota with her blend of scoring, rebounding, and defensive command, while Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams provide tempo and spacing. Phoenix counters with Kahleah Copper’s relentless downhill pressure and Satou Sabally’s versatility, backed by Alyssa Thomas, who continues to redefine the triple-double. With the series shifting to Footprint Center, expect Phoenix to push pace and lean into its crowd energy, while Minnesota aims to impose structure and control the glass. This one could hinge on early momentum and late-game execution.

Today’s Objective(s): Day 8 of 17
You’ll need five (5) players who will accumulate 3.0 or more steals and 3.0 or more blocks, which means each player will need to average 0.6 STL & 0.6 BLK. Each series is tied 1-1, so there will be at least two more games, which means Day 9 and Day 10 are in play. The thresholds are low, but blocks will be the more challenging between the two. There are also a handful of players who can deliver on both fronts, but your collection will ultimately determine whether today is viable or a skip day.
