WNBA Fast Break Classic |2025 Playoffs | Day 4

Today’s Objective(s): 7 Three Pointers Made & 15 Three Point Attempts

Overview:

Minnesota is the first team to close out their series as they stormed back from a double digit lead to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. Golden State looked to be in position to hang an L on the number one seed, but they imploded in the fourth quarter. Yet, they showed that they are more than an expansion team.

Next up, we have the finale of the first round between Atlanta and Indiana along with Las Vegas and Seattle. The winner of each matchup will face each other in the semifinals in a best of five series. As exciting as win-and-go-home games are, the longer each series goes, the thinner your lineups become.

There are two games on today’s slate and the outcome not only affects your Fast Break lineups, but impact the two remaining contenders for the coveted WNBA title.

WNBA Recap: September 17th

Mercury Torch Liberty in Game 2 Blowout: Series Tied 1–1
Phoenix came into Barclays Center with a chip on their shoulder and left with a 26-point win that felt like a statement. The Mercury dismantled the Liberty 86–60, flipping the energy in the building and forcing a decisive Game 3. New York’s offense sputtered under Phoenix’s relentless perimeter pressure, shooting just 30.2% from the field and struggling to generate clean looks. Meanwhile, the Mercury spread the scoring load as five different players scored double digits. They attacked the rim with purpose and controlled the tempo from tip to buzzer. It was a clinic in playoff urgency—Phoenix didn’t just win, they dominated, and now the series heads west tomorrow with momentum fully shifted.

Lynx Storm Back Against Valkyries in One-Point Nail-Biter: Advance to Semis
In a fourth quarter that felt like a masterclass in resilience, the Minnesota Lynx erased a double-digit deficit to edge the Golden State Valkyries 75–74 and sweep the series. Playing at SAP Center in San José due to a venue shift, the Valkyries led by 11 entering the final frame, but Minnesota flipped the script with a 26-point surge. Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride delivered clutch buckets, while DiJonai Carrington and Bridget Carleton hit timely threes to fuel the comeback. The Lynx defense locked in, holding Golden State to just 11 fourth-quarter points and forcing key misses down the stretch. It was a gutsy, veteran performance that showcased playoff poise—and sent Minnesota into the semifinals with momentum and a warning shot to the rest of the bracket.

Fast Break Results: Day 3

94% of Fast Break participants earned a win, which is the third day in a row where more than 60% of participants walked away with their heads held high. Jonquel Jones, utilized in 39%, delivered 13 rebounds and 1 assist which was the highest total contribution of the top five players. Alyssa Thomas was the most utilized player and she had the most well-rounded contribution of 6 rebounds and 7 assists. If you had either, you could argue they both earned the Fast Break Star of the Day.

On the other hand, Natasha Cloud was the 3rd most utilized player. With only two rebounds and two assists, she is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Round 1: Best of Three Series

Indiana Fever @ Atlanta Dream | 7:30PM ET | 11:30PM UTC (Series Tied 1-1)

The Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever face off tonight in a decisive Game 3 at Gateway Center Arena, with a trip to the semifinals on the line. Indiana forced the series tie behind a standout performance from Kelsey Mitchell, whose shot creation and clutch scoring have been central to the Fever’s offense. Aliyah Boston continues to anchor Indiana’s interior game, controlling the glass and altering shots in the paint. Atlanta counters with Rhyne Howard, whose scoring versatility and defensive instincts have shaped the series, and Allisha Gray, who’s delivered consistent two-way impact and veteran poise. With home-court advantage and a deeper bench, Atlanta enters as the favorite, but Indiana’s resilience and star power make this matchup anything but predictable.

Seattle Storm @ Las Vegas Aces | 9:30PM ET | 1:30AM UTC (Series Tied 1-1)

The Las Vegas Aces host the Seattle Storm tonight in a high-stakes Game 3, and the tension is thick. Vegas, led by A’ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray, saw its 16-game win streak snapped in Game 2 and now faces elimination on its home court. Jewell Loyd, now a key bench scorer for the Aces, has quietly chipped in with timely shooting, but the real pressure falls on Wilson to dominate the paint and reassert Vegas’s defensive identity. Seattle, meanwhile, has leaned on Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike to push tempo and stretch the floor—Diggins & Ogwumike combined to score 50 in Game 2 and they look locked in. The Storm’s youth and athleticism have disrupted Vegas’s rhythm, but the Aces’ playoff experience and depth should give them the edge in crunch time. Expect a physical, possession-by-possession battle with Finals implications hanging in the balance.
