WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 8 | Day 10
Today’s Objective(s): 60 Points Scored & 20 Field Goals Made
Overview:
We’ve reached another finale as today rounds out Run 8. There are two more runs before the WNBA Season begins, which means your opportunities to earn W rewards is dwindling. Good news. You have two more series plus the playoffs to go, so usage of your moments will continue on for a couple more months before the NBA season tips off.
The number of perfect records shrank from 32 to 23, but that’s a higher number than the previous runs. So long as you have at least six wins so far, you still have a chance at the 7-win pack. For everyone above that threshold already, push for the daily and run-based rewards.
If you have historical players in your collection, be sure to set your lineups before the 15 games begin. Don’t know who to start? Be sure to check today’s article for Day 3 of the historic Fast Break run.
WNBA Score(s): August 23rd
Dream Dominate Short-Handed Liberty to Set Franchise Win Mark
Atlanta cruised past New York 78–62, setting a franchise record with their 24th win of the season. Allisha Gray led the Dream with 19 points, Brionna Jones added 17, and Naz Hillmon chipped in 11 as Atlanta controlled the game from the opening tip. The Liberty, missing both Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu, struggled to generate offense and trailed by as many as 26. Kennedy Burke led New York with 13 points, but the Dream’s 21 second-chance points and +9 rebounding margin proved decisive. Atlanta now holds a two-game edge over New York in the standings, with the season series split 2–2.
Aces Power Past Mystics for Tenth Straight Win (LVA 91, WAS 81)
Las Vegas extended its win streak to ten with a victory over Washington. The Aces leaned on their offensive firepower and late-game execution to pull away, overcoming a Mystics squad that had won the previous two meetings. Vegas improved to 24–14, while Washington dropped to 16–21. The win keeps the Aces surging toward a top-three playoff seed, with their core clicking at the right time.
Sun Torch Sky with Balanced Scoring and Fourth-Quarter Poise (CON, 94, CHI 84)
Connecticut defeated Chicago 94–84 in a high-scoring affair that saw the Sun shoot out to a 55-point first half. Tina Charles and Bria Hartley delivered key buckets in the fourth, while Aneesah Morrow added a clutch three to hold off a late Sky rally. Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese combined for strong interior play for Chicago, but the Sun’s perimeter shooting and ball movement proved too much. Connecticut improved to 9–27, matching Chicago’s record and snapping the Sky’s brief momentum.
Recap: Day 9
Day 9 was better than Day 8, but not by much as only 29% of Fast Breakers earned a win. Of the top five players, Chelsea Gray was utilized the second most and was your standout performer as she had one steal and two blocks. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day.
On the other hand, Olivia Nelson-Ododa was utilized the fourth most, but had the worst performance as she had no steals and no blocks. With her lackluster showing, she is your Fast Break Dud of the Day.
Today’s Matchups:
Seattle Storm (19-18) @ Washington Mystics (16-21) | 3:00PM ET | 7:00PM UTC
At CareFirst Arena, the Seattle Storm face the Washington Mystics in a matchup with playoff urgency. Seattle enters as the clear favorite with a 77.3% win probability, riding a three-game road win streak and strong performances from Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins. Washington, led by Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, won the last meeting 69–58, but with Seattle shooting over 45% from the field, the Storm are projected to take control early.
Golden State Valkyries (18-18) @ Dallas Wings (9-28) | 4:00PM ET | 8:00PM UTC
Golden State travels to College Park Center to take on the Dallas Wings, with the Valkyries holding a slight edge at 56.2% win probability. Veronica Burton continue to anchor Golden State’s balanced attack, while Dallas leans heavily on Paige Bueckers. With Arike Ogunbowale still sidelined and the Wings struggling to close games, Golden State’s rebounding edge and defensive poise make them the projected winner.
Indiana Fever (19-17) @ Minnesota Lynx (29-7) | 7:00PM ET | 11:00PM UTC
At Target Center, the Minnesota Lynx host the Indiana Fever in a matchup that tilts heavily toward the home team with an 84.7% win probability. Napheesa Collier is listed as questionable, while Indiana is without Caitlin Clark, Aari McDonald, Sophie Cunningham and a few other key contributors. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston will need to carry a heavy load, but Minnesota’s depth and elite defense—especially at home—make them the projected victor in this late-season statement game.

Today’s Objective(s): Day 10
You’ll need five (5) players who will score 60.0 or more points and make 20.0 or more field goals, which means each player will need to average 12.0 PTS & 4.0 FGM. As the two are correlated, you’ll have commonality in the objectives. Players who score the majority of their points from inside the arc and aren’t free throw merchants will be your best options.
As expected, there are a lot of players who have the capability to help you reach the threshold with more certainty, but the limitations of your lineup are solely based on your collection and which players you have left. Last day of this run — finish strong.
