WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 5 | Day 5
Today’s Objective(s): 25 Rebounds & 25 Points in the Paint
WNBA Scores:
Fever Catch Fire Late, Overpower Dream in Comeback Win (Fever 99, Dream 82)
Indiana flipped the script in the second half, torching Atlanta with a 59-point surge to erase a halftime deficit and close out a 99–82 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Sophie Cunningham was the sparkplug—16 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high in boards—while Kelsey Mitchell dropped 25 points and Aliyah Boston added 19 points and 8 assists. Caitlin Clark struggled from the field but facilitated well, and the Fever’s fourth-quarter defense sealed the deal. For a team clawing back to .500, this was a momentum-builder with bite.
Storm Cruise Against Sun, Ride Ogwumike-Diggins Duo to Victory (Storm 79, Sun 65)
Seattle locked in and never looked back. Behind Skylar Diggins’ 21 points and Nneka Ogwumike’s 18 and 7, the Storm controlled tempo and spacing to sweep the season series against Connecticut. The Sun, fresh off snapping a 10-game skid, couldn’t replicate their offensive rhythm and were held to just 65 points at Climate Pledge Arena. Seattle’s defensive rotations and rebounding edge kept the Sun chasing shadows. For the Storm, it’s another notch in a quietly surging campaign.
Fast Break Recap: Day 4
Yesterday’s 92% success rate marks the second day in a row where over 90% earned a win. The positive outcome was largely attributed to Jordin Canada as she was utilized in 81% of lineups and contributed 70% of the day’s objective. With her performance, she earned the Fast Break Star of the Day. As none of the other four players with the highest utilization lagged on the day, there were no clear Duds of the Day.
Today’s Matchups:
Minnesota Lynx (18-3) vs Chicago Sky (6-13) | 1:00PM ET | 5:00PM UTC
The Lynx head to Wintrust Arena with an 80% win probability and a ten-point spread in their favor. Napheesa Collier continues her MVP-caliber campaign, while Kayla McBride’s shooting and Alanna Smith’s rim protection round out a squad that’s firing on all cylinders. Chicago, meanwhile, leans on Angel Reese’s rebounding and Kamilla Cardoso’s interior presence, but their 5–12 record and recent inconsistencies make this a steep climb. Expect Minnesota to dictate tempo early and extend their dominance unless Chicago finds a way to disrupt the Lynx’s rhythm.
Golden State Valkyries (10-8) vs Las Vegas Aces (9-11) | 4:00PM ET | 8:00PM UTC
In Paradise, the Golden State Valkyries face the Las Vegas Aces in a near-even matchup with Vegas holding a slight edge at home. Jewell Loyd and A’ja Wilson anchor the Aces, though Wilson’s recent wrist injury casts uncertainty over her availability. Golden State counters with rookie standout Kate Martin and Temi Fágbénlé’s defensive versatility, fresh off a 21-point outing from Burton. With both teams hovering around .500 and playoff positioning on the line, this one could swing late—but if Wilson suits up, Vegas’s experience may tip the scales.
Today’s Objective(s): Day 5
You’ll need five (5) players who will gather 25.0 or more rebounds and score 25.0 or more points inside the paint, which means each player will need to average 5.0 REB and 5.0 PITP.
These two objectives are highly correlated as these players often hang around the interior on both ends of the court. There are a number of players who can deliver both stat lines, so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Be sure to look ahead and plan your lineups so you aren’t caught without options toward the end of this run.
