WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 1 | Day 10
Today’s Objective(s): 40 Rebounds & 3 Blocks
Recap & Overview:
WNBA Fast Break Run 1 Nears Its Final Days
The first WNBA Fast Break Run of the season is coming down to the wire, and it’s been a grueling challenge. Seven of the first nine days have seen success rates below 50%, with five falling under 20%. As a result, the pool of collectors reaching the five-win threshold remains low.
So far, only 196 collectors have hit the five-win mark, while 400 others are just one win away from qualifying. Over 1,000 more collectors need to secure wins in both remaining days to get there.
Liberty Sneak Past Fever in a Nail-Biter
In one of the two games yesterday, the New York Liberty faced off against the Indiana Fever, with the defending champions looking to protect their status and the Fever seeking an early-season statement win.
A strong second quarter helped Indiana build a nine-point halftime lead, which they maintained heading into the fourth quarter. However, New York mounted a comeback, tying the game with three minutes left. After two minutes of trading buckets and free throws, the Liberty had possession with a chance to win. With two seconds remaining, Lexie Hull fouled Sabrina Ionescu, who drained both free throws, sealing the dramatic win for New York.
Despite the loss, Indiana proved they can compete with top-tier teams, showing they have the potential to fight for a championship this season.
Dallas Remains Winless as Bueckers Shines
In the second game of the night, Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings were still searching for their first win, taking on Allisha Gray and the Atlanta Dream. While the final score reflects a competitive contest, with Dallas losing by just eight points, much of the deficit was chipped away in the fourth quarter.
Bueckers continues to impress, adjusting well to WNBA play, but Dallas remains winless on the season.
Pack Drop Incoming: Rookies & Signed Parallels
On May 28th, the first WNBA Fast Break pack of the season drops, featuring impact rookies who could bolster collections significantly. Even more exciting, this release will include signed parallels, marking a new milestone for NBA & WNBA Top Shot.
If last season is any indication, some of these rookies will retain strong value if they continue performing at a high level for the remainder of this season and beyond. Case in point from last season: Kamilla Cardoso, Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark, Rickea Jackson, Aaliyah Edwards, Leonie Fiebich, Julie Vanloo, and Cameron Brink (once she returns).
Additionally, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen of the Washington Mystics are making waves early in the season and could offer strong collectible value.
Fast Break Recap: Jonquel Jones Shines, Howard & Cunningham Struggle
Yesterday’s Fast Break objectives focused on field goals made & three-pointers made, resulting in an 18% success rate—an improvement over the previous day but still well below the ideal 50%+ mark.
Jonquel Jones, utilized in 33% of lineups, contributed 9 FGM and 2 3PM, earning her the Fast Break Star of the Day.
Meanwhile, Rhyne Howard and Sophie Cunningham, heavily relied upon in 33% and 31% of lineups respectively, produced only 2 FGM and 1 3PM each, which significantly contributed to the low success rate.
Tonight’s Matchups: Four Key Games on Deck
There are four games on today’s schedule, each carrying significance for teams looking to shake things up:
Connecticut Sun & Chicago Sky seek their first wins of the season.
Los Angeles Sparks aim to snap their three-game losing streak.
Washington Mystics look to continue defying preseason expectations.
Las Vegas Aces head to Seattle for the marquee matchup of the night, taking on a battle-tested Storm squad led by Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike.
Last season, Las Vegas won all three meetings against Seattle, but this new-look Storm team will be eager to change the narrative. With an early tip-off for the Connecticut-Atlanta game, followed by the remaining three games at 6:00PM ET | 10:00PM UTC, collectors should plan accordingly and adjust their lineups if they haven’t already.
Today’s Objective(s):
WNBA Fast Break Day 10 requires five (5) players who will collect 40.0 or more rebounds and accumulate 8.0 or more blocks, which means each player will need to average 8.0 REB & 1.6 BLK. It’s going to be another tough one, especially at this stage of a run. A’ja Wilson is the top option and your likelihood of earning a win increases significantly with her and drops precipitously without her.

Tome Collective’s WNBA Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
Build-out in process, but is going slower than expected due to data irregularities. It’ll be ready by at least the next run at this rate. Here’s our lineup today though. With yesterday’s loss, we’ll need to win the final two days to earn the 5-win pack. Hopefully Run 2 will be more fruitful.
