WNBA Fast Break Classic | Run 1 | Day 6

Today’s Objective(s): 10 Three Pointers Made & 30 Rebounds

Recap & Overview:

Aces Dominate, Dream Hold On in Tight Finish

Yesterday’s slate featured two matchups, both tipping off simultaneously.

The Las Vegas Aces secured their first win of the season in commanding fashion, dismantling the Connecticut Sun with a staggering 32-point lead by the end of the third quarter. This lopsided result highlights the gap in quality between top contenders and rebuilding teams in the 13-team league. If this performance is any indication, Connecticut may be in for a long season.

Meanwhile, in a much tighter battle, the Atlanta Dream took on the Indiana Fever. The Dream entered the fourth quarter with an 11-point advantage, but Indiana stormed back, tying the game with 1:04 remaining and even briefly taking the lead with 0:21 to go. Atlanta responded under pressure, with Rhyne Howard calmly knocking down two clutch free throws with 0:09 left, sealing their first win of the year.

Fast Break: Points in the Paint Dominate

For Fast Break, yesterday’s objective was Points in the Paint (PITP), and the results were largely successful, with 81% of lineups earning a win. Aliyah Boston led the charge, delivering 18 PITP, benefiting 41% of Fast Breakers who included her. Her dominant performance earned her the Fast Break Star of the Day.

On the other side, Natasha Howard underperformed, managing only 6 total points despite being utilized in 71% of lineups. Given that the other three most-used players each hit at least 10 PITP, her lackluster showing earns her the Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Looking Ahead: Three-Pointers & Rebounds Take Center Stage

With three games on today’s schedule, you’ll have plenty of lineup options, but today’s objectives—three-pointers and rebounds—won’t likely yield the same high success rate we saw yesterday. Same is true for Pro mode as assists & steals are needed.

Be strategic with your picks, keep an eye on trends, and stay mindful of the overall run as we continue through the first run of the season.

Today’s Objective(s):

WNBA Fast Break Day 6 requires five (5) players who will sink 10.0 or more three pointers and gather 30.0 or more rebounds, which means each player will need to average 2.0 3PM & 6.0 REB. As the top player options show, there aren’t any players who can accumulate both as they are non-correlated and are often covered by different positions. You’ll need to mix and match players with the hopes of accumulating just enough to earn a win today, but there is a high probability of low win percentages today.

  • Little of Both: N/A

  • Outside Snipers: Kelsey Plum, Bridget Carleton, Julie Vanloo, Sami Whitcomb, Satou Sabally

  • Glass Crashers: Napheesa Collier, Alyssa Thomas, Dearica Hamby, Jessica Shepard, Azura Stevens

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: S. Sabally (70%), T. Hayes (61%), M. Billings (47%), K. Plum (31%), C. Williams (31%)

Upcoming Fast Break Objectives:

  • Tomorrow: 25.0 Assists & 2.0 Steals (5.0 AST & 0.4 STL)

  • Objectives Frequency (after today):

    • 2x: BLK

    • 1x: PTS, OREB, AST, STL, FGM, PITP, 3PM, REB

Considerations:

  • Atlanta, Los Angeles, & Phoenix have the most games remaining this run (4)

  • Indiana & Las Vegas have the fewest games remaining this run (2)

  • There are no games scheduled on May 26th

  • Day 7 & 9 only have two (2) games scheduled

  • Day 10 & 11 have the most games scheduled on a single day this run

Tome Collective’s WNBA Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Build-out in process, but is going slower than expected due to data irregularities. It’ll be ready by at least the next run at this rate. Here’s our lineup today though. We fell short yesterday as we did not many of the heavy hitters available based on how we’ve mapped out the remainder of this run. Going for win #4 today.
