NBA Fast Break Classic | Conference Semifinals | Day 11

Today’s Objective(s): 10 Three Pointers Made & 20 Three Point Attempts

Recap & Overview:

Celtics Stay Alive, Force Game 6

Facing elimination at home and missing Jayson Tatum for the rest of the postseason (and likely into next season), the Boston Celtics refused to go down without a fight. At halftime, the game was knotted at 59, but Boston took control in the third, building a 15-point lead and expanding it by another 10 in the fourth. With the win, the series heads back to New York, where the Knicks will look to close things out. They’ll need a better performance from OG Anunoby, who struggled mightily, shooting 1-for-12 from the field (8.3%). While the Knicks have been a stronger road team this season, they’ll want (and need) to take care of business on home court as they do not want to make another trip back to Boston.

Timberwolves Eliminate Warriors, Advance to Conference Finals

Minnesota had the chance to close out a Curry-less Warriors squad, and unlike the Knicks, they didn’t waste it. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves held a 21-point lead. Golden State chipped away, cutting the deficit to single digits with seven minutes remaining, but Minnesota regained control and sealed the win.

With the victory, Minnesota advances to the Western Conference Finals, where they’ll face the winner of the Oklahoma City-Denver series—the only game on today’s schedule. As the lower seed, the Timberwolves will start the next round on the road.

Fast Break Recap

Yesterday’s Fast Break objective focused on rebounds and blocks, and Luke Kornet delivered, recording seven blocks and nine rebounds. While he wasn’t among the five most-utilized players, his performance earned him an honorable mention.

Mitchell Robinson, included in 32% of lineups, had a big day, tallying 13 rebounds and one block, earning the Fast Break Stud of the Day award. On the other hand, Kristaps Porzingis, utilized in 46% of lineups, played just 12 minutes due to breathing issues and managed only one rebound and one block. Based on his lackluster performance, he was your Fast Break Dud of the Day.

Can Denver Force Game 7?

Denver will be tough to close out at home, meaning there’s a real chance of a Game 7 in Oklahoma City on May 18 (Day 13). If the Nuggets lose tonight, there will be no games on Day 13 or Day 15. Expect high-intensity basketball as Oklahoma City looks to finish the job and Denver fights to stay alive.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 11 requires five (5) players who will make 10.0 or more and take 20.0 or more three pointers, which means each player will need to average at least 2.0 3PM & 4.0 3PA per player. There are only two (2) teams in action today, so your options are very limited — especially at this stage of the Fast Break run. Although there are two objectives on the day, the former determines whether you win and the latter determines how high you’ll place. Getting across the line will be the overarching challenge though.

  • Shot Takers & Makers from Outside: Jamal Murray, Luguentz Dort, Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter, Jalen Williams, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: A. Wiggins (52%), L. Dort (51%), A. Gordon (48%), M. Porter (39%), A. Caruso (36%)

Unsurprising, especially with our available lineup, we lost yesterday. Anticipating another loss, but not quitting. I mean…is Saric even playing??
