NBA Fast Break Classic | Conference Semifinals | Day 10

Today’s Objective(s): 25 Rebounds & 3 Blocks

Recap & Overview:

Pacers Punch Their Ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals

Cleveland looked poised for a big win after a dominant first quarter on home court, leading 31-19. But Indiana responded in the second, cutting the deficit to just four points at halftime. The third quarter flipped the script with the Pacers surging ahead by nine heading into the final frame. Cleveland fought back, coming within a single point multiple times, including after Donovan Mitchell’s clutch three-pointer with five minutes remaining. But after an untimely two minute scoreless stretch, Mitchell had a chance to cut the lead to three points with three free throws in the final two minutes of the game—and missed them all, all but sealing Cleveland’s fate.

With the win, Indiana advances to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight year. They will likely face New York, unless Boston can pull off a miracle. While the series isn’t officially over, Jayson Tatum’s Achilles injury significantly lowers the Celtics’ chances. Whether they force a Game 6 will be decided today.

Thunder Take Control in the West

The Denver-Oklahoma City showdown was tight throughout, with Denver holding an eight-point lead entering the fourth. That lead vanished with six minutes remaining, as the game was tied five times down the stretch. At the two-minute mark, SGA’s and-1 bucket gave OKC a three-point lead. Shortly thereafter Nikola Jokic responded with a three, but Jalen Williams answered with one of his own, giving OKC a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

With this win, Oklahoma City now has the chance to close out Denver on the road. If they advance, they will be the highest remaining seed, as every other No. 1 and No. 2 seed has been or will be eliminated.

Fast Break Recap

Yesterday’s Fast Break objective focused on assists and steals, with Tyrese Haliburton continuing his stellar postseason. If you had him in your lineup (43% of participants), he rewarded you with eight assists and one steal, covering 40% and 50% of the day’s objectives, earning the Fast Break Stud of the Day.

On the other hand, McConnell, Garland, Hartenstein, and Westbrook all failed to reach more than three assists, contributing to the 38% win rate among Fast Break participants.

Potential Conference Finals Clinchers

Tonight, Minnesota and New York look to secure their spots in the Conference Finals, both leading 3-1 in their respective series. With Tatum out indefinitely and Curry sidelined for Game 5, it’s Minnesota and New York’s series to lose. If both teams close out their matchups, only the OKC-DEN series will continue beyond Game 5, significantly limiting Fast Break lineup options. Additionally, there would be no Conference Semifinal games on Days 12, 14, or 15 if both series end today.

Expect Boston and Golden State to fight hard, but both teams face steep challenges to avoid elimination. Regardless of the outcome, tonight’s matchups should be competitive.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 10 requires five (5) players who will collect 25.0 or more rebounds and accumulate 3.0 or more blocks, which means each player will need to average at least 5.0 REB & 0.6 BLK per player. There are four (4) teams in action today (and could be the last of the series with two (2) or more). Both New York & Minnesota have the opportunity to close out their series, so it may be your last chance to utilize these players. Boston & Golden State are missing a key piece of their roster, but Boston has the higher probability to winning without theirs. Setting a viable lineup today while hedging for availability on Day 12 may be the best approach.

  • Little of Both: Rudy Gobert, Al Horford, Jaden McDaniels

  • Glass Crashers: Karl-Anthony Towns, Al Horford, Rudy Gobert, Josh Hart, Jaylen Brown, Mitchell Robinson, Jaden McDaniels, Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler

  • Shot Blockers: Kristaps Porzingis, Draymond Green, Rudy Gobert, Derrick White, Al Horford, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, OG Anunoby

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: A. Horford (63%), K. Porzingis (49%), D. Green (49%), D. White (38%), M. Robinson (32%)

Back on the loss train as we were unable to achieve the assists and steal objective. This lineup is less than ideal, which will be the case for the remainder of this run, but hey, we’ll keep trying.
