NBA Fast Break Run 12 | Day 12

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 20 Rebounds & 5 Blocks to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

Sharing is caring - at least that’s the common saying, but it wasn’t as prevalent as you would anticipate yesterday. Across all seven games, only ten (10) players reached the average 7.0 assists needed on the day and only seven of them exceeded the mark to make up for any deficits. Jokic is normally good for around 10 assists, but he sat out the entire 4th quarter due to the blowout against Utah and only contributed 6 assists. Due to the unusually low assists outcome and a usually easy objective, only 4% of Fast Breakers earned a win yesterday.

Denver and Utah played in the last game of the day and 53% had Jamal Murray in their lineup. As he was a late scratch, he contributed zero assists to over half of lineups which guaranteed a loss for the majority of Fast Breakers. Of the other four players, only Russell Westbrook had at least seven assists so he’s your Fast Break Stud of the Day. Honorable mention goes to Dennis Schroder, Elfrid Payton, and Collin Gillespie (who recently had his Top Shot Debut & challenge reward minted for the Crunch Time set) who each had 10 assists. Jimmy Butler was utilized in 46% of lineups and could only muster 4 assists, so he is your Fast Break Dud of the Day (although the honor could go to anyone who didn’t distribute at least 6 assists).

Across all Fast Break participants, only one is perfect through 11 days. With two days remaining, they are in the drivers seat to earn the $1,500 Top Shot Credit. 44 others are a win away from the 11-win reward and 480 others would need two wins to earn the same pack. If you’re not one of the aforementioned Fast Break participants, your objective at this point is to maximize your standing for better run-based rewards. On the Pro side, RichDMC & sutych both have 8 wins and are positioned for the 2024 NBA Finals Legendary Pack (plus Top Shot Credit). As there are no win-based rewards, the goal on the Pro side is daily and run-based. This means setting a lineup is better than no lineup - even if you cannot fill out a full five player roster. So, let’s dive into today’s projections and earn a win.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 12 requires five (5) players who will gather 20.0 or more rebounds and accumulate 5.0 or more blocks, which means your lineup will need to average 4.0 REB & 1.0 BLK per player. Between the two objectives, blocks will be the determining factor as to whether you win or lose today. Rebounds will be the differentiating factor as to where you rank, which will be important as you are pushing for a higher finish for the run-based rewards.

  • Little of Both: Chet Holmgren, Myles Turner, Adem Bona, Kristaps Porzingis, Nic Claxton, Alex Sarr

  • Glass Crashers: Domantas Sabonis, Bam Adebayo, Isaiah Hartenstein, Nikola Vucevic, Kel'el Ware, Chet Holmgren, Josh Giddey, Luka Doncic, Nic Claxton, Paolo Banchero

  • Shot Blockers: Chet Holmgren, Myles Turner, Adem Bona, Jaren Jackson, Kristaps Porzingis, Nic Claxton, Alex Sarr

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: M. Turner (53%), K. Porzingis (45%), J. Jackson Jr. (42%), A. Davis (37%), D. Sabonis (37%)

  • Pro Mode Limitations: Video Game Numbers (Rare)

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow: 40 FGM & 55 FGA will be the two objectives; 16 teams in action

Considerations:

  • Twenty-six (26) teams have the least number of games remaining (1)

  • Twelve (12) teams are playing their last game of this run today

  • Philadelphia & San Antonio have the most number of games remaining (2)

  • Cleveland & Utah are playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today

  • 1 of 2 days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)

  • Pro mode has a different limitation each day; it also has different objectives compared to Classic

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected rebounds & blocks according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 12 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Even without the late Jamal Murray scratch due to hamstring tightness, we would not have won today as there were many underperformers on our team - especially Donovan Mitchell who could only muster 3 assists. With yesterday’s loss, we are no longer capable of reaching 11 wins. But, we can maximize our run-based reward standing.
