NBA Fast Break Run 12 | Day 4

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 125 Points Scored to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

The first three days of this run had very little chaos - a much different experience if you made a bracket for March Madness. Of the 24.3 million brackets created on ESPN, only 25.8K remain perfect - and only that’s after Day 1. Louisville, Clemson, Kansas, and Mizzou were big favorites who faltered and wreaked havoc on many brackets. Day 2 is likely to produce more upsets as well.

Contrary to the volatility of the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, NBA Fast Break Run 12 has been smooth sailing. The first two days saw over 90% winners and the third had over 80%. The next day may not be as fruitful considering the typically challenging 125 points day. Today will be the first true test of the Run 12 Classic run whereas the Pro mode is showing more challenge each day - especially today as three pointers made are needed. Even if you lose, it is better to set a pro lineup than phoning it in. It could be the difference between earning a run-based reward vs. not earning one at all.

If you started LaMelo Ball (59%) or Kevin Huerter (50%), you received five (5) three pointers apiece and they are your Fast Break co-Studs of the Day. If you started Zach LaVine (40%), however, you only received one (1) three pointer and had the Dud of the Day in your lineup. Fortunately, yesterday’s goal was five less than it typically is and it made all the difference. The next three point objective is on Day 8 and we’re back to 15. Before we get there, focus on the task at hand: points. But of course enjoy the bountiful amounts of basketball along the way.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 4 requires five (5) players who will score 125.0 or more points, which means your lineup will need to average 25.0 PTS per player. This will be the first challenging day of the run where there’s a high probability of a less than 50% win rate. SGA (if he plays) will be one of your best options considering how well he has played. Beyond that, there are only five (5) players who are projected to score more than 25.0 points and only eleven (11) who have done so over their last 10 games.

  • Points Scored: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Paolo Banchero, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Cade Cunningham

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: A. Edwards (86%), K. Durant (72%), SGA (53%), D. Booker (51%), J. Tatum (50%)

  • Pro Mode Limitations: Rookie Debut

Looking Ahead:

  • Tomorrow, 40 FGM will be the single objective; 10 teams in action

  • Objectives frequency (after today):

    • 3x: PIP

    • 2x: AST, BLK, FGM, OREB

    • 1x: FGA, 3PM, 3PA, PTS

Considerations:

  • Chicago, Golden State, Memphis, & Minnesota has the least number of games remaining (4)

  • Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Antonio, & Washington has the most number of games remaining (6)

  • Charlotte is playing the tail-end game of a back-to-back today

  • Day 5 has the least number of teams in action (10 or less), so your lineup options will be more limited on these days

  • Day 4 has the most teams in action (20+), so your lineup options will be the most expansive

  • Denver & Utah last game this run lands on Day 11

  • 7 of 10 days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)

  • Assists minus turnovers & +/- are not included as objectives continue to be MIA; Steals is not included this run either

  • Pro mode has a different limitation each day; it also has different objectives compared to Classic

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected three pointers made & three point attempts according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 12 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Third win. That earns us our first pack and we only need four more to earn our standard objective, but also eight more for our stretch goal. Today will be our first test to see whether 7 or 11 wins will be more feasible considering we have limited room for error. Of the remaining days where OKC is playing, SGA would be viable either today or Day 10 so we opted for Day 10.
