NBA Fast Break Run 10 | Day 14

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 5 Offensive Rebounds and 35 Points in the Paint to earn your win.

Recap & Overview:

After Day 13 where two of the top five players utilized sustained a meaningful injury, you have to wonder whether the Fast Break curse is a real thing or coincidence. Jaren Jackson sustained an ankle injury after just two minutes on the floor (with zero FGM) and Kyrie Irving sustained a knee injury after nine minutes on the floor (with two FGM). Both exited, did not return, and is likely to be out for some time based on the severity of the injuries. 54% of all lineups had JJJ, which likely had contributed to the abysmal 8% win rate yesterday. Similar to Day 12, there were no Studs or Duds on the day as the other three most utilized players (DeRozan, LaVine, & Adebayo) did not exceed 8 but did not fall below 7.

Of the 8% who earned a win, wood0299 was one of them and is one win away from earning the top prize. Should they falter on the final day, there are only two others who have a chance at catching the leader at this point. It also means the most number of 11-win packs will be very limited as only 24 total participants have the win total needed to reach the 11 win mark, which means they’ll be filled with some goodies.

As we’ve reached the end of Fast Break Run 10, we can look ahead to Fast Break Run 11, which is now available and will span 13 days. That means Run 12 & 13 will also likely have 13 days for each run before we move into NBA Playoff Season and the start of the WNBA Fast Break Season. As of this article, there is no confirmation that the Pro Run will make a return, but given its success and interest, we hope NBA Top Shot decides to bring it back. Before we shift our focus to the next run, let’s finish strong and carry that momentum into Run 11.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 14 requires five (5) players who will accumulate 5.0 or more offensive rebounds and score 35 or more points in the paint, which means your lineup will need to average 1.0 OREB & 7.0 PIP per player. Both of these stats are highly correlated as they are both accomplished on the offensive end which means a single player could accumulate both objectives. Certain players have a higher tendency of doing so though.

  • Little of Both: Ivica Zubac, Zion Williamson, Alperen Sengun, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jarrett Allen, LeBron James, Jakob Poeltl, Franz Wagner, Pascal Siakam

  • (Offensive) Glass Crashers: Ivica Zubac, Jarrett Allen, Day'Ron Sharpe, Karl-Anthony Towns, Andre Drummond, Yves Missi, Onyeka Okongwu, Zach Collins, Alperen Sengun, Nick Richards

  • Inside Scorers: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Zion Williamson, Ivica Zubac, LeBron James, Franz Wagner, Kevin Durant, Jalen Brunson

  • Top Five (5) Players in Classic Lineups: I. Zubac (68%), J. Allen (46%), C. Capela (40%), J. Butler (34%), Z. Williamson (32%)

When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 10 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Our luck ran out as we came up well short of the Day 13 objective as we had multiple underwhelming performances including the JJJ first quarter injury. We’ve already secured the 7-win pack, so Day 14 is more a benchmark of how well we did this run while maximizing our overall standing for run-based rewards. Overall, we are currently sitting in 106th, which would mean a $25 reward. Not bad for a common-only account.
