NBA Fast Break Run 9 | Day 9
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 50 Points in the Paint & 12 Offensive Rebounds to earn your win.
Recap & Overview:
There are six (6) days remaining in this run, which also means we are less than a week away from the NBA All-Star game in San Francisco. In the event you didn’t have plans or were already planning to attend and wanted to elevate your experience, keep in mind the VIP NFTs grant you access to the next three (3) NBA All-Star Games (2025-2027)…for the low low price of $35,000 (low ask). If not, we can enjoy the festivities together from afar.
Of the top players utilized yesterday, Evan Mobley had the best night with 10 FGM & 1 BLK and is your Fast Break Stud of the Day. But he wouldn’t have been able to do it alone. Some common alternative options (outside of the top five) were Scottie Barnes, Wemby, and Walker Kessler who all delivered at least 3 blocks apiece to go along with strong field goal numbers and earned honorable mentions. The only letdown in the top five was Isaiah Hartenstein who had no blocks on the night, so by default he is your Dud of the Day. 63% of lineups earned a win yesterday with the mix and match of top performers, but only 36 perfect records remain. For those of you who are perfectly imperfect, you still have an opportunity to reach for the top 1,500 overall to earn your share of rewards. So long as you have at least five (5) wins, you still have a chance at the 11-win reward.
With all the trade activity the past few days, it has produced a not-so-obvious impact to Fast Break. Once a player switches teams, their stats reset. Interestingly enough, Anthony Davis is playing today but is nowhere in sight in the top five or the top of the season stats (which is how Fast Break organizes it)…because his stats reset to zeroes in Fast Break. On a day like today, he’s one of the best options. The only caveat though is today will be his debut with the Mavericks and the lack of synergy with the team could lead to a poor outcome. With the number of games on today’s slate, you have many other options also. But it’s worth considering if you need a fifth option.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 9 requires five (5) players who will accumulate 50 or more points in the paint and gather 12 or more offensive rebounds, which means your lineup will need to average 10.0 PIP & 2.4 OREB per player. These two stats are frequently correlated as players who have a tendency to score inside are also in position to gather offensive rebounds. With that said, there will be a number of players who are optimal for today.
Little of Both: Deandre Ayton, Ivica Zubac, Alperen Sengun, Karl-Anthony Towns
Interior Scorer: Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LeBron James, Zion Williamson, Ivica Zubac, Kevin Durant, Deandre Ayton, Karl-Anthony Towns, DeMar DeRozan, Alperen Sengun, Anthony Davis, Jaylen Brown
Offensive Board Crasher: Ivica Zubac, Domantas Sabonis, Rudy Gobert, Walker Kessler, Daniel Gafford, Deandre Ayton, Zach Edey, Alperen Sengun, Yves Missi, Clint Capela, Karl-Anthony Towns, Isaiah Hartenstein
Top Five (5) Players in FB Lineups: D. Sabonis (81%), K. Towns (58%), A. Sengun (56%), D. Ayton (49%), Z. Williamson (47%)
Looking Ahead:
Tomorrow, 20 assists minus turnovers will be the single objective; only 6 teams in action
Objectives frequency (after today): AST-TO, FGA, REB, PTS, AST, STL, 3PM, 3PA, FGM
Considerations:
Brooklyn & Cleveland have the least games remaining this run (2)
Eight (8) teams have the most games remaining this run (4)
Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, San Antonio, Utah, & Washington are playing the tail-end of back-to-back games
Day 10 & 12 only have 6 & 8 teams in action, respectively so your lineup options will be more limited
Day 11 & 13 have 20 or more teams in action (Day 13 has all 30 teams in action)
3 of 6 remaining days this run will have a single objective (or resembles a single objective)
Assists minus turnovers makes a return on Day 10
Statistical Approach:
Top players in projected points in the paint and offensive rebounds according to Rotowire & NBA.com, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which is stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Tome Collective’s Fast Break Run 9 Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as the Tome Collective account participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
After an abysmal Day 7, we are back on track with a win on Day 8 which brings us up to six wins for this run. I’ll be prepared to swap out Anthony Davis in the event he isn’t available for Dallas today.
